Yes .. this is the reality, but any one of us may run across any number of agents who will throw their weight around for the simple fact that once you touch those agents of the Federal State - say they restrain you by sheer numbers and you want to escape- then you become a violent criminal per they say so. We can all look up all the altercations police officers started over petty misdeminors or even felony that ended up killing the suspect while they were supposed to restrain him - the whole black lives matter movement tells us just that. There are many Bourne and Ethan Hunt movies and many ghost recon or rainbow six games where the MC is so deep undercover he will have to suck up to all the abuse of ”marshals” or ”sherriffs” throwing their weight around if the player ever wants to get to the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Those shows tell us - figuratively speaking - tales of possible realities in which we can immagine just how deep they can go down the rabbid hole if they set their sights on you and use trumped up charges to essentiually jail you for how ever long they wish - nowadays a soccer player was announced to have begun his actual trial to determine his guilt, but he has already served two years in counting in actual jail for something that has never been proven or judged at all, they simply took the words of ”agents” to stick him effectively innocent in jail awaiting trial. This game is not going the distance of two years, so my example serves to show that even in today actual reality, trumped up charges can get you jail time awaiting trial where you are effectively treated like a criminal by the media and many of your fellow countrymen just because the ”agents” throw whatever accusations towards you.
FBI (Congressional & Presidential authority). These guys like to think they are in charge, but they usually are not.

FBI is always shown in many tv dramas or movies to be either corrupt, covering some of the truth and blowing other seeds of truth way outta proportion, or downright criminal, just to have their way and bully other law enforcement by embroling them in complicated plots that are usually just in their heads and a law abiding county police officer woul most of the time find way more evidence putting his foot on the ground rather than pushing papers until something sticks.
CIA (only Presidential authority and ZERO authority against US citizens)
CIA has very little oversight, as shown in many misison impossible movies or the Lioness series - where they simply kidnap a criminal right out of police escort to a county jail by killing everybody, including police officers, to get their man, right on USA soil - even aftrer that whole plot is discovered by Morgan Freeman as the liaison with the President, nobody does jack shit - they simpy throw some stark words at them and take over the cases they had already botched, but otherwise let them go back to killing USA citizens ”covertly” and killing police officers to cover their ”ZERO authority against US citizens”
