So that (users with new or old accounts) who visit this thread don't think that this is his first game
I found it strange that almost no one talked about his previous abandoned game in this thread and it wasn't in the OP.

I was 80% sure he would abandon this game after 4 updates (and he did 5 ahah) and he will do the same again if he makes another game.

Or the simple answer is that he's just abandoned it like last time, if he ever comes back he will probably start a new game.. just like last time

Stop making excuses for him, man. There's only one possibility and you know it. He's just a Lazy unprofessional and lying Dev. He was always like this from the beginning, dropped his first game and pplz still try to make up theories about why he hasn't released the update yet. I'm astonished at how pplz are so blind and don't want to see the truth hanging in front of them.

Beyond the constant delays and disappearances, another clue that the dev was gonna abandon the game was the fact that his dev plans made 0 sense.

For people that don't know, Cloudlet planned for this game to have 3 chapters. Chapter 1 was supposed to be a kinetic novel, chapter 2 a visual novel and chapter 3 was going to be sandbox. This, plus the fact that he constantly tried to change engines was a guaranteed abandoned tag.

I think even if he comes back, he's just gonna push another short update and disappear again. 0 chances for him to ever complete this game.

Not abandoned, on hold. One game, my first one, where I made tons of mistakes and I learned 3D doing it. It needs rethinking gameplay-wise and redoing 3DCG-wise.
I just realized on my first game that I bit more than I could chew. I recognized 2 main things: storytelling and gameplay. So now I'm kinda testing my limits. This one is pure story, then Chapter 2 will be story with logic.
I'm not milking with slow burn, I just want a more adequate progression of events. And I will do it as fast as I can(well, as my pc allows me to really), because I have at least 1 other game planned after this one. It will be gameplay-driven, cartoonish with next to no story. And then I want to redo the first one with more experience. I don't have time to milk and I don't need to milk.

Yeah-yeah. Move along.

Sure he was obviously lying, but frankly I'm not sure if milking was ever a likely motivation for this dev simply because he never had that many supporters to begin with. The most he ever made was like $600 a month, which sure might still be more than he deserved, but he wasn't getting rich off of this.

I think it's a combination of having plans he can't put into practice because of limited tech skills (the dev already said he couldn't figure out how to make Ren'py work), writer's block and potentially life getting in the way (from what I remember he was a student). Also I just think he got burned out and lost interest. The game started around the time of COVID being a big thing, he probably has other things in his life nowadays to occupy his time with.
