Too bad it would be interesting to have a community that shares character models
That was the debate from day 2 actually, but adding characters and stuff is kept as a "selling point", so modders are left pecking eachother over crumbs for now.
The dev may eventually allow that possibility, but most likely towards the end of the project.
It's a policy, like any other... new models are constantly added anyways.

Has the performance of this thing ever improved?
i can hardly get 30fps, what makes this game so resource hungry anyways?. It doesn't look THAT impressive graphics wise...

in 0.4 the performance was good overall, but 0.5 had LOTS of changes so the performance went down. As of 0.53 performance went up a little but it´s still rough in some parts. The most accepted configuration for the game is: antialias -fsr3, fsr mode-performance but this will vary depending on your PC; we´ve seen someone try to run it, somewhat succesfully, with a 1060 (3GB) and a i7-4790

Yeah my pc is a little older than that... I also remember the older versions running a bit better
I just don't understand how this for example runs so much worse than like halo 4 / reach on master chief collection. Those are emulated games too.
I'm going to take a wild guess and say this game probably has spaghetti coding, I'm no developer of course that's just what I think.
The lack of actual graphics options sure don't help, shadow quality, texture quality, etc.

If you mean the Halo games, those aren't emulated at all, you are not downloading any Xbox emulator to play that and there is no emulation layer (there is an actual Xbox 360 emulator for PC, if you tried Halo games on those, they would run like 5 times slower or more), you are running them natively on your PC, they are very easy to run because they are Xbox 360 games, that's all. Where did you get from it's "emulated"?

As for TF, yes, still needs optimization and well, all we can do is wait for now, main issue the game has is CPU bottleneck, you can play around with GPU limitations by changing FSR and gain some extra fps. You can also try to limit this app fps with Nvidia Control Panel fps limiter or something like RivaTuner.

I thought i saw somewhere that the halo games were emulated and unreal engine was only used for the UI, some shit like that, maybe it was just my monkey brain.

And something that could maybe improve is the breasts physics and maybe adding physics to the testicles, at least to me it looks rather odd how they don't even shake a little bit
rock hard balls literally.

I'd love to see more detailed body editing, though isn't that what is supposed to come out in this next patch? Funny how the hips slider does the same thing as the waist slider.

Of course a game like Villain Simulator is the king of body editing detail, but TF feels a lot less rigid and plastic on the interaction side of things.

Unreal for the UI is correct, that's what runs the menus before launching the specific game.
The games themselves are running natively - genuine PC ports. The first 2 games actually had PC editions back in the old days, and those versions are what's used for the MCC release. The others were built for Xbox 360, which isn't all that different to a Windows PC, and porting them was practical.

There are some big differences between old Halos and this. First, yes, this is quite badly optimised, and old Halos had to be very optimised so they could run on old consoles. But it's more than that. Despite being pretty small in scale, this game uses a big chunk of tech that old Halos just couldn't. Halo Reach is not running 4k textures, or soft body physics, or high-detail hair physics, or advanced lighting with subsurface skin details, or advanced fluid physics. Those are all things that are very performance intensive, even today.

why are the controls of this so insanely bad? nothing works the way you'd think, everything twists and turns and glitches out constantly

and why are the rooms so fucking insanely tiny with a room camera collision? its impossible to zoom out any amount to properly align stuff
