well, now that the lightning thing is out i can say this: this has been in the work for months and we knew that the lightning was causing problems. The general idea was to increase both, performance and graphics (we we told), but game develpment is hard!

And yes! this will allow modders to add custom maps

It's especially hard, when your game is not properly designed and you "design as you go". It seems parts of the project are still at the prototyping stage and haven't even reached alpha. I still think it is a promising project, but the way it is managed...
...And let's not forget, this isn't even a proper game, it's a scene creator, similar to Virt A Mate but far less complex. It's pretty obvious the developers are just winging it at this point. I mean, who seriously asked for "in-game rendering closer to Blender" when there are so many anime style characters? What's the point of enhancing lighting and realism when the character models already look completely out of place?

They'd better use 4 point lights, raytracing and reflex (Vam I mean), have you seen what their characters look like in direct ambient light? LMFaO straight from PS2.

Though it is about the lightning, the update is deeper than that. At first, new maps were tested, several in fact, since it was part of the general updates promised last year (i think? don´t quote me on that). After the team added maps, there were several bugs, all related to lightning, so new maps were added and tested. The problems remained and the team decided that adding a better lightning would let the "buggy" maps to be implemented. Now you know why the maps and the lightning update are linked together, can´t have one without the other.

Hello! You have to place all the files (numbered ones) inside your "capture" folder and then you can view them from the game. Unfortunatly, it's a very unfriendly way to create stories but the game doesn't offer anything better for now and I don't know how to create a better system through coding since I'm not a programmer.
Bro, I have posted examples using your work before, and I'm not a coder, very far from it. It's not difficult, just use my example for "Brotherhood" to see how it's done. You'll improve the quality of your work and I'm sure everyone here will appreciate it.

The games' render system being similar to blender potentially makes modding (characters and maps) a lot easier. If materials and textures work just like in blender, they only need to provide a template for the ingame-skeleton(s) and maybe conventions for additional vertex groups, physics assets etc. Seems like their goal is to enable custom character/map import after all.

What they should add (among many other things) is freely placeable lights, so that we can set up proper lighting (3-point etc.) Even the old Honey Select NEO had that.

The optimization in the Virt a Mate game is terrible, I agree. On my computer, in this scene, let's say I get at least 30 FPS. This is in a dynamic scene, but in static ones it's mostly 50 FPS or more.

Honest question, what girls would you like to see in the game? Since most of the "mandatory" girls are already in the game (tifa, aerith,2b, etc) what girls would you like to see in the game? Im asking this because the poll for june is already going and i´d like to post a girl that the F95 community can say "we nminated that".
