I assume you are in the wrong folder. After opening the folder you downloaded and extracted you will see an .exe file, but that is the original Japanese installer. You need to go into the subfolder that is just called "Tsumugi". In there will be another .exe file and that is the translated version.

This happens to everyone. It's because this is a very bad MTL. Basically whoever did the MTL put the whole script through a translator and then just overwrote the JP script with the English one, not at all paying attention to the character limit, so a bunch of text just gets cut off and doesnt exist. If it was just a display limitation you could at least read the full lines in the backlog, but even in the log they are cut off, proving that the full lines simply don't exist.

Holy grail is how I feel about this truly, outside of doujins Futa doesn't really have many top tier options, like every thing great that I can imagine is either western or some RPGM game, like the gap between Futa h-manga/3D Animations and everything else is quite insane, I legit got jump scared that a visual novel with good art like this was futa and not like some NTR (I didn't check at the time), then the animation kicked in and it just jumped to a 10/10 (made by imo the best animators as far as eroge goes and it's not even close, comparing to things like what HonkyTonk Pumpkin does feels even offensive). I legit doubt that a futa visual novel of this level is going to happen again unfortunately.

I know i'm just repeating what others are saying, but seriously, this is THE holy grail. a futa VN of this quality is unheard of. not just in terms of art/animation quality, but also the characters and story. Is this what people who enjoy straight porn have been able to enjoy all this time...?
I seriously can't sing enough praises about this. these days h-games and futa content seem to just go deeper into niche kinks and extreme stuff. But this game stands as a shining beacon of a (by today's standards) vanilla story, simply about pure unbreakable love between two people who care about each other more than anything. It's a straightforward premise, much more simple than other futa content out there, but it's the flawless execution that makes this far more memorable than anything else out there. I'm just blown away by this VN. this is one to keep around. I'm probably going to go buy this game twice or more

Not at all. 90% of het works are garbage. Tsumugi no Hanayome blows most het eroge out of the water too. There are some high quality VNs that just happen to have sexual content, but aren't focused on it which are good too, but something with this sex scene density usually ends up pretty much forgettable trash.

This VN really mixes the best aspects of pure yuri VNs (emotional resonance and cuteness) with the (arguably) more intense and erotic aspects of futanari works in a pretty good blend while also adding something close to an otome game like backstory and horror as seasoning. If you consider the general production quality this really is a miracle of a release.

This Hending one is probably one of the few that have pure romance and not a lot of adjacent fetishes (magical girl, corruption, questionable consent, etc). There are maybe 2-3 others that have pure romance but I'd probably have to remember / dig them up.

The main top tier one is probably CROWD - Ex Change EX. It does have a gender bender element (guy gets turned into girl, girl into futa, romance).

If you're using winlator you'll need to tell it that it's got an override on version.dll, that's how the translation pack works. I am unclear how to do that in winlator or if it's even possible, I use wine/proton where the process is straightforward.

basically unless you can load the version.dll in the game folder, it won't hook the translation into the game

It does appear winlator uses wine on the backend so the WINEDLLOVERRIDES="version=n,b" argument should do the trick in theory, unsure if winlator has somewhere to plug that argument into though

About an hour in. Even with the MTL translation, this is still really good. I'm glad someone translated it at all.

Ai translaton is a bit rough but workable. I just wish they had more, idk pictures ?, for the scenes to go more into visual detail than just explaining what happens via text.
