nope. it's pragmatic. for a solo dev, you have to make choices and sacrifices somewhere if you want to move your story forward. and this game is primarily about the relationships MC has with his girls. time travel is a minor detail even if it sets up the start of the story. focusing on the relationships and the story is the best thing to do for this game. if he gets time later to add minor details to increase the depth of his world, sure. even though most people won't care. but now it's clearly not the priority.
