Not sure how they are "playing" with you by being self-aware and honest about their history of missing predicted release timelines. Seems to me it is the complete opposite - letting fans know the game is still in active development but at the same time encouraging them to be realistic and not "expect" projected time frames to be religiously adhered to.

Good point. But for a lot of creators it is effectively their job, even if its labeled differently. Also, I dont really think BaiBai has given any indication that he is moving on with his life
I certainly understand your perspective, but I feel like if a dev cant deliver on what people are supporting them for, then they should pause payments. Just my two cents, we can agree to disagree of course.
Also, and of much greater importance, consider how annoying the thread would get with the milking/scamming comments if he didn't pause the payments

Becoming a hater of something because of a few months of delay and communication from the dev admitting that he can't work on the update at the moment is weird behavior. Imo.

The thing about delaying this long is people are gonna be extremely critical of his game when he does release it. I honestly think he ran out of good ideas the release was awesome then the 2nd update was meh. Things don't look good for the 3nd update he seems like he's got writer's block most games on here run out of ideas relatively quickly. I know people are hopeful but this is pretty much the trend here they just lose motivation because writers block.
