I'm still alive – Happy Halloween
Alright, I will try to keep this one compact as there honestly isn't that much news for me to tell you but since I haven't posted anything here in quite a while I think it is still about time for at least a little life signal.
I'm still not back at working on the game and neither will I be for a while longer. Accordingly I've once again extended the subscription billing pause. It is very, very likely however that things will return back to normality within November and once they do the update will follow very shortly. Of course I'm aware that me saying these things doesn't mean awfully much anymore but things are actually starting to settle down and my promise remains as strong as before that the game is far from finished.
There are more things I'd like to say but everything I write feels like I'm just trying to make you guys look more favorable upon me, so I'll leave it at that. In the end I just hope that with v0.9 we will be able to leave this waste of a year in regards to the game behind us and maybe I'll be able to return it back to the excitement I felt that it once had next year. Don't take my word for it though, let me have to prove it.
Regarding the vacation mode since there keeps being some confusion about that: The date set in there doesn't mean anything. The vacation mode will remain until v0.9 is released and will be lifted as soon as that is the case independent from the set date. Should anyone ever be charged without v0.9 being released you can take that as a clear indicator that the game actually is dead.
Anyway, I hope you're not too feed up with me not to let me wish all of you a happy Halloween and give you some quick renders I made. It certainly felt nice to do something with honey select again.

Depends what you mean by natural stage
There's a decent amount of devs milking their games, I can think of at least 3 near-instantly but they all share the following characteristics:
1) Did not pause billing
2) Kept stringing people along that the update will be done soon
3) Admitted to not working on the game for a long while, with no justification at all
BaiBai could've done better by giving a heads up sooner than he did but other than that he doesn't really satisfy those criteria.
Admittedly, I have seen a few games where the dev paused billing with the intent of returning the month after and then they just get too busy to work on it so one month becomes three... and then six, and then they never get around to working on it again. BaiBai seems fairly confident that this ain't gonna happen, but all we can do is wait and see

The number of people in this thread, for a game, acting confused why people are annoyed the game isn't being updated is...odd. Let's not pretend we are here for the ambiance or conversation, people want the game and are pissed it has been delayed (to my count) four times over eight months.

You didn't need to respond with a full ass text assuming what a 10 words line meant to say. Intentions or manners don't matter, this is something typical because after all it's not a company doin these games, they are persons losing their free time in order to make some potential money doing something that they probably don't want to continue doing in the near future. So, we are just accepting now that BaiBai saying the game was very nearly done in August was a lie right? The game was apparently on the edge of being done but he just couldnt find any real time to sit down at his pc and finish it....except he does have time to make renders with custom assets for Halloween nobody asked for and joke about CBT in his discord.

What is the problem being? The guy is not currently charging anyone, so if the game comes back good and if not, well, shit happens.
It goes without saying that writing a short text explaining that he's okay and blah blah (which shouldn't be more than 10 minutes) is not the same as sitting down and writing a full update.

I'm not up to the current drama but how is the dev who out right told everyone that the games on hold and paused subscriptions, somehow seemingly getting more flak then the ones who go radio silent. While it's unfortunate that it hasn't been updated, at the end of the day they showed far more integrity then a ton of other devs.

The annoying part is that you would be complaining if he didn't sit and write a short post about what's happening.
I was one of those that probably were pissed the most, at least I complained, tried to reason with god or the ether or I don't know whom, even asked to release the unfinished version.
I was not a happy camper that rather than pushing though, 20 min. a day we would have had the update and some progress on top of that, Baibai just said - something came up, I'm stoping the billing and that's it. I mean at least tell me approximately what it is - health related? Studies? Work? Nothing, but "I don't think it matters anyway" - still remember.
Then I just understood that many people do not really think this game is a big deal. They play other games, inject escapism by other means into their lives. I realized I was too emotionally invested, it was the only game I waited for.
Emotionally I'm done with this game, through and through. If it does well - fine, I might play it, if it dies - then no big deal.
