Don't wanna make this about milking, baibai isn't milking, but I'm just confused how the translation process takes that long. Surely you use AI and other programms to help these days, atleast with the ground work before going over it yourself again ofc. Feels like he's doing everything by hand (which also would explain the amount of spelling mistakes), which just seems terribly jnefficient. Also feels like the easiest part of development cycle that could be (partially) outsourced.

I think BaiBai already talked about it, I'm not sure if it's here (maybe in Discord) but he doesn't use AI translators because he doesn't like the way they translate and he has to correct everything, so it's easier for him to translate himself. That's his special thing.
In addition, this release will be larger, so translate more.
In short - patience, gentlemen, patience.

Maybe Baibai doesn't want to use them, for superficial stuff maybe but this isn't a shitty homework and Baibai isn't a overworked translator for a streaming service. The writing is very important to him and it's for the writing I got so hooked with TM, it has mistakes since it isn't his area of expertice and english isn't his first languange but he does care about the translation and honestly, I prefer wating for human effort than having AI slop but I understand what you mean, maybe in the future the AI tool doesn't butched Baibai's writing and the correction process gets smoother and even then if Baibai doesn't feel like using them then that's that.

I don't believe the dev is milking, I'm just making this clear before this is interrupted as a hate comment rather than a question.

I understand that AI isn't perfect and If the dev has already experimented with it and It only made things worse then that's completely understandable. However, surely the fact that he's already been translating for several weeks, it might even be close to a month now ,and needing a further 6 weeks needs to be changed/fixed somehow. Taking 2 plus months on translation alone almost makes it certain that the games never going to have more then 1 update a year unless the update size is slashed in half which might just end up changing it to two updates a year that equal the singular big update.

I feel like the only way to push the progress of the game is to out source the translation to someone. I honestly think several fans would do it for free but even if it was paid for the dev makes a decent monthly amount from the game that can go towards it. If the dev is very particular about how he wants scenes to be translated/interrupted then he could do the more major scenes of the update to make sure they come off the way he intends. Obviously there would be vetting process that I'm sure would turnout someone he was happy with and hopefully he would trust them to do the more major scenes as well, which could leave him to just touch up and fix a couple of things at the very end.

Those are very reasonable points and to be honest I would be more at peace if Baibai had some help, working as a one man team has burned so many people with potential and that's just sad. It's up to Baibai to share and decide based on his circumstances. Sadly I don't think theres many people in this comunity with fluency in german and english and those abilities deserve payment, unpaid labor is cringe.

Something to keep in mind, and to be honest I don't know how accurate it still remains, is that BaiBai is a student. I remember reading a while ago that due to his workload and to prevent burnout he doesn't spend all his free time working on the game. If I remember correctly it was only weekends and possibly a day or two at max during the week depending on how much other work was on his plate. Given that updates have transitioned from half an in-game day to a full in-game day, and with how meaty the days have been the longer dev cycle makes sense. Granted that only applies if his schedule remains unchanged.

Outsourcing translation could definitely cut a huge amount of time off development. I'm not quite sure how BaiBai structures updates, but if he got the bulk of the writing done first and had someone else translating, he could get through the other parts of the update while the script is being translated. The current method of having the update effectively done and needing to take over a month just to translate seems really inefficient, especially when development stopped on the previous update when only translation work remained and the game suffered a nearly half a year delay.

I am german myself and would be willing to help out with translations. I am not a professional translater though, so I also understand if baibai doesn't want to get a translator. He has a very distinctive writing style and I am not sure how easy it is to replicate that in a translation as a third person. I'd have to try.

Would be nice if he at least tried an AI translation just to see how much time it would save and the quality of the translation

I suggest just picking one type of route for everyone, (corruption or seduction), and then going through your first playthrough with only that choice. Whichever you prefer to see first. Then just do a second playthrough where you skip through the text and pick all the options for the other route. Assuming you didn't fiddle with your settings the skip will stop when you come across text you haven't seen before, so you'll know when you've come across changes in the story or new scenes.

Personally I like the seduction route better for all the main girls.

Need some help deciding, Should I go with Burger King or Five Guys for my next meal?
Just a heads up - Burger King will make you dirty as a pig, but the burgers are hearty.
Five Guys is pretty much the same thing... so go to KFC for a change.

I mean, from the start Baibai seemed to be pretty profficient in english and after 3 years of talking to us, translating, writing etc... He's probably already fluent+ and can express himself good enough to share emotions without having to check what he typed again. So I just don't understand why he doesnt write in english from the start instead of taking 2-3 months translating everything  then just re-read himself and fix typos etc...
