So, after seeing and reading a lot of the stuff happening with this game really is disappointing.
But if I were to say, I do like how some aspects of it are unique, like the models diverging a lot from the usual one you'd see in a lot of koikatsu-themed games for example; the optimization from this last patch is a very welcome one, since playing on low-end computers made the past scenes a small pain to watch.
The scenes in hell too, even if I can see them being filler for the time being, has some potential in the future if we're actually going to be revisiting it like he said a long time ago. The small glimpses done on the mc regaining their consciousness also made the part in the hospital quite touching to watch with the reactions of every family member and how they were affected by it (personally I prefer the more implied stuff they're doing with those moments compared to the original version, even that scene with Tomoe and Jasmine interacting explaining a bit of the virus is a good way to understand what it does like in the original game).
And while the added scenes are hot, I do agree that they're a drag to go on through- at one point I just started to skip through them after realizing they were just going to be repeats with nothing exciting happening, especially after the massive expectations built & the very large gap in between updates with no notice in his social medias that aren't locked behind a paywall. Nearly one year of build-up for what looked to be the 1.9 version turning out to be just a patch is a way worse move than someone could even dream of.
I'm not defending what's going on in the development, if everything here turns out to be true (I just discovered this version after all, so I'm unsure of what's 100% going on). But I'm just having that slimmer of hope this game actually continues getting made so we can get a version that's just as good, if not better, than the original game... even if it is going to take a long long time with the pace.
