well, the last update version was the best, only last part of story was strange.... now its very simple, not sure how was the development, but could he not maintain the stuff already made and used to this new one, adding the hub as the appartment.... not sure if you can understand, but the scenes already made like, metro, beach, etc, maintain or he needs to rewritte the codes again? because he did again the metro one, but in a side view... for me was lost time, he could just had used the ones already made, since theres no graphic difference, and looked better in composition.

as someone who has Followed this Dev for awhile since he 1st released the Original version of this game i can say this is just kinda what he does, Makes game - update - update - update - disappears - redo - update - update - update - disappear - redo, its perfectly normal for him to never make it very far in this game and this is like the 10th revival of it, i love the game but personally dont have very high expectations cuz he keeps remaking it

Sadly, it's a downgrade in almost every aspect.
The camera angles are worse, and the same goes for the renders, character poses, and facial expressions. The sound mixing has also declined.

The point of view of the main protagonist has changed—you no longer feel like you're in his shoes, but rather like a mere spectator. Events unfold too easily, too predictably, and often feel unrealistic.

One of the main appeals of the game was the sense of freedom and replayability through discovering all the possible paths. Now, it feels almost kinetic: "do this at that exact time, choose option 1 of 2, and bingo."

Version 0.39 was heading in the right direction. Now, it really feels like the dev is trying to stretch out the development time as much as possible...

Ok so what does the update schedule look like based on past updates or reworks? Cause I do find this one to be interesting. The characters and the story both hit a number of things for me and I'd like to support it but not if this is gonna be a once a year update type deal.
Based on past updates and reworks? It'll probably get 2 or 3 updates per year and the roadmap should look a little like this :

1. Intro. (complete)
2. Intro part 2 AKA "Meeting Annie". (Complete)
3. A tiny if not microscopic hint of the plot unfolding. (WIP)
4. Start from scratch with a brand new rework, giving it a "catchy" name like 'Overhauled' or 'Revision'. (TBA)
5. Profit.

6. Rinse and repeat because dumb people keep giving him money for doing nothing and/or making choices that end up making the game worse.

In case my intention was unclear, I'd advise to keep your money, wait half a decade and then come back to see if the game might be worth spending 5 or 10 bucks on. Keep in mind, he started this game back in like 2017 (at least that's when it was originally posted here, it's likely development started well before that) and it still hasn't progressed beyond what is basically a glorified intro.

in the end, ReduxIs NOT Better.
It is better for development. Less paths, less work needed for each update. But the game still has too many 'love targets', so people will always complain about the lack of content with their favorite one. I'm not sure, but I believe the dev can use old renders and animations having to redo only the coding part. If this is correct, old events could be added faster to the game.

I agree. Game updates have gotten even faster.

Hello everyone.
It's normal that you're complaining; it's understandable. The game went from over 16,000 lines of dialogue to just 5,000, and the content is more direct, without fluff.

I know some liked what was there before, and so did I, but it was impossible to maintain the quality and updates month after month.
This will be the game's new normal. I'll continue with this new formula; for me and most players, it's been better.

The game was heading down a path that was causing me despair and fatigue. But I assure you that the old content will be added gradually, along with new events. However, I'll focus on the most interesting characters and the main story. The game needs to reach the format I envisioned. Some will complain about the camera angle and others about the limited choice options. But that's okay, for me and many others, the game is improving. I wanted to make the most beautiful, most perfect game, and I truly believed in it. But it's humanly impossible, and even if I tried, I'd still be getting criticism for delays, or like "this update was short," and the famous "the game has been in development for seven years, blah blah blah."

To those who believe, I ask, once again, for a little more patience. I say to backers who have doubts: hold on to your money, but keep following the game's progress, and when you feel comfortable again, come back if you want.

It's annoying to come here and read things like: "he just wants to take your money" and the like. I'm not forcing anyone to support the project, and I'm not putting a gun to anyone's head. I know the project has flaws and is far from ideal, but it wasn't ideal before either. I strive to improve, and I say this with great conviction.

That's all for now. Thanks to everyone who played. The next update will be released by the end of next month, and I hope it changes the bad impression this update caused.

Hugs to everyone.

Surely, simpler is better for you but please maintain a good quality standard.
Your game has great potential and could reach the pantheon of eroge if given the right amount of passion and effort, and if constructive criticism is taken seriously.

Elements like camera angles and character poses aren’t the most difficult to improve.
Identify the strengths of the game, focus on them, and keep refining them.

I still believe in the project, and if I see improvements, I would gladly subscribe again.
Good luck!

One of the main reasons for switching from first-person to third-person camera was the different heights of the characters. I had to constantly adjust the size and distance between the characters. Anny is 160cm, Bret 190cm. A scene with both of them side by side would be a disaster, even worse when dealing with children, who are 130cm, 140cm tall, or when there are multiple characters in the scene. Did you notice that the new skater scene has a new member? Previously, it was impossible to add her. The scenes will be "described" in third-person, but the first-person characters will be shown separately, time after time in their lines, as is the case in this scene.

These are simple scenes, with conversations. Before, I'd take my time angling the camera, determining where each character would stand for each line. Was it good, was it cool? Yes, I agree! But it's not easy to do.
I can reassure you that the important scenes will remain of the same quality as always. Sexual scenes mainly.

Sure, you can say that and I can understand the annoyance/frustration on your end from reading comments like mine for example. But you can't really blame people for being skeptical when your "reboot" doesn't leave the best first impression, especially since this isn't the first time you've gone down this kind of path.

I can see why you would want to remove fluff, and I can see how the sheer amount of different options and variations v39 had would become overwhelming to keep up with at some point. What I can't see is a good reason for changing certain renders for the intro (the train part), just to give an example. You didn't just remove fluff there, you changed and removed renders that had nothing wrong with them, and then replaced many of them with renders that simply don't look as good as the ones we already had which I think is a strange decision.
This causes it to feel like this Redux so far isn't doing the game any favors, and it seems to me like you could've just re-used most of the "old" renders instead of creating new ones for scenes that play out in pretty much the same way as they did before anyway. That, combined with the removal of all the "fluff" is making this update feel like a downgrade to a lot of people.

Your project has a ton of potential, that's part of the reason why this update got such a strong reaction out of some of us here. But if you really want people to believe and be patient, it's gonna take a bit more than an update that doesn't feel like it's improving on much of anything.
We can't see what you see while developing the game, all we see is the end result of it. While some people might sympathize with the difficulties you were facing regarding camera angles and the like, most of us will simply react to the quality we're seeing in comparison to previous versions and the difference is quite apparent (referring mostly to the train intro as an example again).

I do hope that future updates will indeed change my mind and show that this change in style was for the better, but for now you'll have to forgive me for remaining skeptical and taking more of a "believe it when I see it" stance on it all. Past experiences with these games and certain developers have caused a lot of negative bias in many of us, which is a shame but it is what it is.

I basically redid the entire intro with new renders because I no longer had the old poses and cameras. During my trip and move to another country, I lost a significant amount of information on old hard drives, and I'm trying to recover it. I know you'll say I could reuse the existing renders, but I'd need to redo some scenes to add a few moments I don't have in the old version. Since I already had the new camera setup and structure in mind, I decided to standardize everything, especially to avoid any surprises when the game entered the "new render mode." Well, that's it, nothing was done haphazardly; I didn't want to render what was already rendered. I'm still reusing images in the newer versions.

The removal of the gallery killed this game for me...again.

You claim that you want to provide quality for this game, but all you're doing is adding stuff which you remove later on.
Maybe take a full step back, brainstorm and get a roadmap going.

How many times has this game been redone now? I remember the first version and that was what? 8 years ago? And it doesn't really feel like the game has progressed, just...a constant cyle of resetting and restarting.

You don't have the team required to complete a story with multiple characters and branching story paths, clearly. You keep trying to please every single taste, while holding onto this unrealistic ideal of perfection that only you can see but cannot see to fruition. In your attempts to please everybody, you please nobody, all while shooting yourself in the foot at every instance of doubt; going back to square one multiple times. You've made soo many excuses for soo very long, I can't help but believe that you really are milking the monthly income of those who subscribe to your patreon & subscribestar. You mock those who have said "the game has been in development for 7 years", attempting to discredit their understandable complaints, but you can't say that they're wrong. If you want people to believe in you and your vision - then quit robbing people of their hope (and their money) for investing into a vision with long-term memory loss.

The game would be leagues better (and perhaps even finished) if you simply leaned into what most of your audience wants. Make it a cohabition game and only focus on a few characters. Then maybe your project wouldn't constantly be one step forward and two steps back and it might even become a believable story where the main character isn't jerking off dogs on his off days, or whatever other strange and unrealistic hookups that are believable but only to you.

Yo this update isnt that bad, I like it. I mean, a lot of new things, in the sense of the UI. also, Anny seems a little changed. ¿More innocent? I love Anny, and I think that she is better like this. The content is not that big but its not that bad either, he doesnt lose the quality, I think its good. Im not big fan of the open world type, but this is looking good. I like it. I just need the cheat mode that can change the stats yk. So I can just keep spending time with Anny. Keep it up, man!
