Sorry if I got your hopes up... I'm still working on C2 E1, it is twice as large as the last episode, but I'm on track to have it out in less than twice as long as the last one took. It will be after the first of the year though. I will know more when I get further along.

It's all good I did it to myself more than anything. I've been interested to see how involved these investments were going to be.

I'm not sure about the new mod, the original mod was done by Sancho, and unfortunantly we lost him last July. If you're still using the old sancho mod, that would be the issue. I haven't tested the new KoGa3 mod, so I honestly know nothing about it. I will have to check it out soon, but I haven't heard anyone else express any issues...

Thanks for the reply. I'm using the mod from KoGa3 linked on the original post, so it's probably the issue. When the next update is released I'll try with mods and see if I can get my list of achievements populated. Great work so far. Fun game.

Like Mina above, I too have been desperately searching for a new job lately, having been unemployed since last July.

Moment's ago, I requested my last full 2 weeks of unemplayment payment, and this current week (which I can request 2 weeks from today) is the last week of unemployment available to me.

For this reason I have been heavily focused on job hunting. It has taken priority over content creation because I have to find a way to support myself, and most importaintly my son, after this week.

I am still working on the game, but that has taken a back seat to the desperation of finding employment. I had hopped that this next episode would be able to come out at the end of this month, but due to neccessity, I am afraid that will not be the case, because either I will find work and be able to get back to a steady production pace once I get established in my new role, or I will be homeless in about a month and the game will have to be paused until I can figure out what to do...

For those of you who do pray, any prayers on my behalf, and for my situation, would be most welcomed.

Thank you all for the support you have shown me. It is my sincere hope to be back on schedule soon. I cannot begin to express how much you have all meant to me during this time.

I get that the MC is supposed to be Badass McSoldier, but there is really no need for such a gratuitous torture scene to play out in a game about a guy running a movie theater. The same thing goes for the bedtime story from earlier, there's just no purpose to it being anywhere near that long. It honestly seems like you just want to make a crime/military thriller, so you're shoehorning it into this game, under then guise of the MC being ex-military.

It's also funny that the MC lives in a Playboy mansion, yet this isn't a harem game.

The MC's military background will continue to play a role through out the story.
The bedtime story was long, however it's intent is to show that even though he could have just blown her off, he does truely care about Kinley andto show how she is beginning to wrap him around her finger. it is building the good dady daughter dynamic.
There are aspects of this game that are not the traditional AVN roles. A man can be strong, sensitive, loving, sexual, and have a strong moral compas. those elements are not mutually exclusive.
Too many games make it imposible for a man to be a father without being sexual with his girls. Too many games make it where a man can't be caring an understanding and also strong and intentional. but not every man is either a Jerk or a Simp. In reality, most of us hold multitudes within us and many of us also strive for growth and improvement... to become beter versions of ourselves and we go along.
It is my desire for this game to be more than just a fap fest. If that's what you want, there are other games you will enjoy better.
It is my hope that by the end of this game, the player will feel that they grew as a person due to the interaction of the story and the choices that they made. It is my hope that the player will end the game with a sense of profound satisfaction, not just a sense of self gratification.
I truly hope that you continue to give the story a chance to grow and develop. If you choose not to, however, I will understand.

None of this has anything to do with what I was getting at. My point was simply that you don't need to devolve your game into yet another crime/military thriller in order to create a multi-faceted MC, it's beyond cliche. There's nothing inherently wrong with being cliche, but that's not the game that you're advertising this as being. If you want to have a big bad evil terrorist from the MC's past come back to haunt him, which is blatantly at least a part of what you foreshadowed, then you shouldn't be marketing the game as "recently divorced father runs kooky movie theater."

You also massively undermine the idea that you're pushing back against fathers sexualizing their daughters in AVNs, when you're making a game in which the MC's "totally not-daughter" is a main LI. Please don't take that as me complaining however, since Kayla is the LI that interests me the most, by a wide margin.

As an aside, it's also jarring for teens, or tweens in Kinley's case, to reference a bunch of shows and movies that came out years or decades before they were born. It makes it seem like you are just projecting things you grew up with and/or like(d) rather than being something that kids born in the 21st century would generally know about. Not saying no kids watch old shows, but usually someone's reference point is still contemporaneous to themselves.

No, Mandelbrot will not make an apperance later on in UC8, his role is complete. I may use him again in a later game, but not in UC8.

Tinks flashback is an essencial part of her story to help you understand what she has been through and explain her dynamic with Jason.

Mine and my best friends children quote 80's movies with me all the time because they have watched them all with us multiple times over the years, and Ready Player One also encouraged them to watch a bunch of old 80's shows. maybe they are unique, but everyone is, and lots of kids grow up watching the reruns of the shows their parents watched... I don't know MASH, Bradey Bunch, Gilligan's Island, and Addams Family because I watched them when they were new. I saw them all as reruns with my parents. (My son also prefers 80s and 90s music to todays music)

It seems that you also haven't read the Dev Notes on the OP or you would know that Kayla will only become a Love Intrest if you eventually choose the route where the paternity test comes back showing that Jason is not actually Kayla's father. There will be no Daddy/Daughter LI content in UC8

It's fine if you don't enjoy the game. You have the right to your own opinions. But you are making comments based on incorrect assumptions that you have made about the game which seem to be biased by your previous AVN experiances...

You don't have to like my story. You are free to make your own judgements. But please don't come here and errantly post what you claim to know is going to happen, like Mandelbrot returning. You will only make yourself look foolish when you are proven wrong.

It's fine to make guesses and hypothesise about future content, I enjoy discussing with my discord group about what they think or even hope they will see in the future. But to criticize my work because you don't like what you guess might be coming... come on dude... Get a clue, because you have no idea. No ones seen what I have planned and that includes players who've been with me since day one. I will be leaving bread crums, but the last couple of chapters will be a surprise.

The story aspect of this AVN is very importaint to me, and it's my story to tell. I am not making a game as much as I am a visual NOVEL. I'm sorry if it has more content than you would like it to, but please don't think you know where it's going.

Side note all my friends who are veterans we tell movie quote movie lines from the 70's, and 80's all the time, just don't try to get us to sing because there is a reason none of us was in the choir, unless beer is involved. That is the wonderful thing about Karaoke my friend! And I fully agree. If you like to sing, then by all means sing. as long as you aren't hurting anyone, follow your bliss! I'm not the best AVN Dev by far, but I'm having fun telling my story and that's why I do it. Not because I'm actually all that good at it. Some of the devs that I get along best with, we are always chatting about things not going the way we hoped and struggles we are having, but it's not about being perfect, great, or the best, it's about telling the story! It's the same for everything. You dont have to be THE best, as long as you do YOUR best, then you can be proud of that!

I sing all the time, love singing the bass parts when I'm trying to relax, it is I have to remember not to start singing when listening to my phone via my hearing aides in at the office. Lets just say Sir. Mix A lot Baby Got Back did not go well.
