Tone it down on the corporate branding speak, especially when they aren't interacting with the general public. I get that the MC is management but there's still no way in hell he refers to his own theatres eating area as the ''UC8 Eats dining area'' when talking to his coworkers. Calling it the dining area or even just ''Eats'' is plenty professional enough. Take that stick out of his ass!
You're not wrong, but he's also new here, so he could be purposefully naming everything to subtly let them know his knowledge and dedication level is a bit higher than the previous management ... just like he's explaining things like profit awareness to Erin.

I actually think him using the full name there was for the reader's benefit because it gets referred to as simply ''Eats'' a few time afterwards. Probably smart to not just drop ''Eats'' with no explanation that first time. In my circle, everyone would assume Eats is referring to Uber Eats.

Still a stupid nickname for your dining area.

I got the impression that it's an area like the concession stands. In this case it is exploited by the Theater, but can be rented or whatever term is used... have someone not from the theater explore it and pay a fixed amount..

That's the impression I got from it. I know several places here in Portugal that do that. For example, some guys I know bought a large area of terrain. They wanted to build a Cafe/Restaurant, but wouldn't have any use for so much land, so, they made a large garden with a swimming pool, they explore the Cafe, and rent the swimming pool/garden to be explored by anyone, since the pool is only usable in the Summer, the contract is on a yearly basis, but they have to take care of the garden area all year. Now, even in the Winter it is a rather beautiful place to spend an afternoon. Everyone wins.

I dunno if that is what was going there, but I got the impression that it could be.

Peace :)

from the talk with alexis when shes stocking...im thinking eats is more like the snack bar in a bowling alley where you can get more "real" food than typical concessions stand

Yea, I got more of a "food court" feel from that statement. There aren't many areas inside a theater that are usually rentable independent of the whole theater other than individual screens, unless the theater owns a whole complex and has things like business offices and/or party rooms. The UC30 might be big enough for stuff like that, but even as big as this UC8 looks, I'm guessing they don't rent rooms or eating areas by themselves.

EDIT: Now watch Grif come back and smack my comment down ...
