id swap depeche mode for either of these. strangelove, leaving in silence, master and servant. i like berlin and astley was always fun when he came on the radio on the way to the beach. but none of their songs ever felt like a moment to me.

soft cell was a great choice though. tainted love isnt may favorite because it was their best known hit, i have like 3 completely separate moments in my life that play in my head when i here the song. my favorite when i was 15 being drug into a club by a group of college girls, the dance mix of tainted love came on, im standing dead center of the dance floor surrounded by laughing joyful women, fog machine and lasers flashing, on the wall across its just a huge screen of music videos and stuff playing. and there i am dancing when i realize, this exact moment feels like it was stolen from a movie, one ive never seen. completely surreal and i had no clue how or why, then i just danced for hypnotized by pretty girls and 80s music. its the only song from the whole night i could remember even the next day. btw i was completely sober, as in zero drinks sober. i didnt have a dime to my name and wasnt going to ask the girls to buy me drinks. i still had pride at 15. lol
Thanks for your input. I considered Depeche Mode as it's a great band and was a strong contender, especially with 6 studio albums in the chosen decade of the 80s(The three songs you mentioned being from three seperate albums). Unfortunantly, my favorite of their albums, Violator, featuring Enjoy the Silence, Personal Jesus, and Policy of Truth, didn't release until March 19th of 1990.
Additionally, I ultimately have to be able to effectively tie the specific song(s) from the chosen album with the story during that specific episode in the episode wrap up. For that reason more than any other, I went with "Take My Breath Away"(Does it get any more 80's than Top Gun? I mean talk about a moment, I can still remember seeing it in the theater for the first time! I'm pretty sure the casset player in my truck played that soundtrack so much I wore it out.) and "Together Forever/Never Gonna Give You Up"

But hey, Depeche Mode is a solid 80's choice. Maybe if I Have a wrap up that's just not working for me I might swap in
Speak & Spell and use "Just Can't Get Enough".

Thanks!

i tried explaining top gun to my kids multiple times when take my breath away came on the radio. they dont understand. they didnt grow up in a time where all rpg play was based solely on people imaginations. so they dont understand re-enacting movies and why everyone wants to be either ice man or goose, but at the same time, no one wants to be goose cause then their role is over rather quick. i should have know my marriage would fail when at karoake i told my wife, to take me to bed or lose me forever, and she didnt get the reference. oh well, my adult kids know the words to 90% of my playlists, and between comment of skibidi also spurt out, goonies never say die. so i guess, they didnt go completely wrong.

but yeah, i can see it being hard to drop in depeche mode when your iconic ones were from 90s. quick side question, am i the only one who remembers 2 different music videos for soft cells tainted love? starting to think its my imagination at this point.

k nough nonsense. drive by the cars heartbeat city. 40 years later and it still gives me a case of the feels.

Nope, there are two different videos. Odd that the one from their VHS video release isn't on their channel.

Or either Han or Luke(Star Wars), or Bo or Luke(Dukes of Hazzard) but whenever we played Back to the Future I was Marty and let my cousin choose between Doc or George

Ouch! As a three time divorcee who based the Masie character on one of my ex's :devilish: , I feel your pain brother! :poop:

Sounds like you did something right.(y) My son prefers 80's music to todays rock, and thinks the Toby Maguire Spider-man is the "real" Spider-man, so I guess I did something right too. ;)

No love for Nicholas Hammond?
I don't remember ever seeing that version - wonder if you can still get it? Of course it had to compete with Star Wars, Close Encounters & The Winnie the Pooh movie  I also remember Airport 77 & High Anxiety (Mel Brooks)
Damn Smokey & the Bandit was that year too, I had such a crush on Sally Fields! Thanks for the memories! (y)

Grif1001 I know takin requests from a non paying player rarely works out but can we get some down time cuddling the girls on the couch at home or something? Just some wholesome family time would fit with them learning to come together as a family

Well, I guess the good thing is that 2 people got my joke! Things are looking up, I better dust off my stand-up material! Is there a Sarcasm emoji?:unsure:
I didn't add a reaction to your joke because I didn't want to risk exciting the incest crowd, but I got your play on the varrious meanings and spellings of "come"... Funny twist of someone else's statement.
