I don't know, but I can tell that it's not Korean or Thai, Khmer, Burmese or Laotian. That leaves us with Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese (very similar signs). The sign inside the restaurant says "CHOP SUEY", so my best guess would be that it's Chinese.

I don't know the Asian language but something can be intuitively translated to adapt it to some of your ideas, for example:
I don't think it's a problem for you to manipulate the writing.
I think they are Japanese kanji and it is very complicated to translate them.
