(kind of a necro I know. but I can't get this idea out of my head.)
angsty fanfic idea I would right myself if my ADHD wasn't so bad.
after the events of the second game the champion is finally brought down not by a match in the ring. but against a drunk driver doing a hit and run that put's him in the hospital's intensive care unit. fighting an increasingly uphill losing battle for his life. even if he did win he would be a cripple for for the rest of his days.
Lin Tia hears about the accident and how serious it is. she comes to a realization. despite opposing him on principle and attempting to set him up to fail for her ideals. she never truly hated or wished genuine harm on him.
soon after hearing Rico and sherry talk about how they hoped he had a slow agonizing death. and how they planned to visit him in the hospital to gloat at and taunt him caused something to break in Lin Tia. she confronts them about it and they respond. "isn't this why you made the UFG? to see men helpless humiliated and in pain?"
Lin Tia wanted to respond that UFG was about uplifting women not to denigrate men. but she can't find her voice. realizing she not only allowed but enabled this sadistic misandry in her organisation.
after threatening to kick them both out of and permanently ban them from UFG if they speak another word of any of that. she rushes to the hospital to try to make amends......before it is to late.
