For what compressor u want mass/bulk game compress feature?

"since it can compress renamed avif" Does this mean that libvips (avif) can be used even for those games whose RenPy version does not support standard avif?
Libvips was already added to auto avif, read changelog again since there said how to (de)activate it (using cog 1758807467402.png button).
No, since it's not connected with RenPy engine support of avif images, renamed avif are rare case and currently I've seen it only here. Also for example if you wanna (re)compress (to lower quality) to avif game that already compressed using UAGC (bad idea btw) to such format nconvert would fail while imagemagick and libvips would do it without problems.

- For RenPy main compressor (main, not bulk) added libvips (avif) + process limit tool with auto avif support (activates and deactivates using cog icon to the right of it)

But if libvips (avif) is selected in the main compressor, it will force compression with it, and the auto-avif settings will be ignored (and there is no point in them) in this case. Or, to switch to it only for auto-avif, do I need to switch to it in the main compressor, click on the gear, press YES there, and then can I switch back to nconvert(webp) in the main compressor? I've meant changelog from where u downloaded the update. I think it would be much easier to understand and more intuitive if the auto-avif settings were all in one place (where the settings are on a gray background), rather than having some in one place and some in another, otherwise it's unclear how exactly to configure them. Right now, it resembles some kind of shamanism and dancing with a tambourine.

I also want to conduct an experiment: to compress a game that does not support avif/av1: compress images to avif, but compress videos to vp9. But I can’t find settings for this in the main compressor, only in auto-avif (which defeats the purpose of the experiment, as it indicates that the game supports avif/av1).
The point is: as far as I remember, when I forcibly compressed games to avif, problems only arose with animations (videos), but images displayed normally (which means that games that do not officially support avif/av1 can be compressed to avif/vp9, which in theory could yield better compression results).
But my memory might let me down, and if I’m mistaken, and games that do not officially support avif at all will produce errors even when trying to load images without animations - correct me, then the experiment won’t be necessary.

As u see that there weren't any free space left at UAGC settings page so for now it's only possible solution, maybe in future I'll try to change it. I didn't found it hard to understand (at least from my point of view) since in fact just step of auto libvips activation moved to another place/button but all activation logic remained the same.

Waste of time, support of AV1 and avif was added at same time (read same versions), I know what I say coz I was that dude which created github commit with AV1 support (it was just few lines of code since RenPy dev did 99.9% of job when added avif but anyway).

small bug cwebp setup. Trying type those Advanced setups with different numbers.
Doesn´t save.
So I save it with settings.ini

if you have time fix it in v24. Would be appreciated
Read baloon tooltips at mouse hover since most of settings need to press Enter button to make it save or do in proper order.

Sry, it's my mistake, I've explained it wrong since already forgot coz there aren't any tooltips and Enter button has nothing to do in current case too. So here is 100% working method for corrent saving cwebp advanced values: 1st u need to set value (25 for example) and only after it activate corresponding check box (blue marks at ur screenshots) to the left of it.

(unpack it where current UAGC v23 final installed and overwrite old files) that should solve your problem.

At ur screenshot u have one chilling vips process at the top, terminate it and UAGC should unfreeze after it. If such problem would happen again (next time check if there are any vips processes hanging before doing) let me know and I'll make a fix.

If this is done, then the image compression process will be interrupted, can this lead to an error in the game or to the omission of compressing this image?
I also want to say that libvips(avif) is much slower than nconvert(avif).

It would be only for 1 image per 1 libvips process interruption (maybe such process just left from buggy UAGC version which u run 1st), also UAGC should just revert it to original if no compressed image was created. About speed it depends on efforts value, try to change it to 3 for example but for me libvips maybe just a bit slower than nconvert, not much for sure.

The completion of the vips process helped, UAGC revived, but it missed this file, it took 40% more time than nconvert, and the archive weighs 376MB instead of 382MB (nconvert).

Can you send me original not compressed file which made libvips stuck? I've made where libvips avif efforts = 3 (faster) + job would be stopped if freeze after 2 min timeout, try to test it (make sure that u killed all vips.exe processes).

I deleted the original and compressed libvips archives, but I am ready to re-download the game and compress it again (for now without installing fix2), if that helps you and you tell me how to find the file you need.

I've told u before how to see command line column in task manager ( ) so if libvips process hangs again u should see in those command line string path to image file, also press libvips cog and make sure that libvips efforts set to 3.

This time, 2 files got stuck, and it compressed them and then froze (the compressed files are attached). The first time it was 4 files. I think it's not the same file, but different ones every time; it just freezes after a certain number of files. When I get home, I will compress the game again and report the results.
