"cwebp + process limit"
"compress images to webp (using cwebp + process limit) and video to VP9 (using libvpx-vp9) at same time"
in saved settings?

I would also like to get some clarification regarding the advanced cwebp settings:
Does -alpha_q and -lossless replace the Images quality setting or do they work together with it?
Does -lossless work with all images, or only with those that have transparency?
How does -pre 2 work and what does it do?
If there are any tips on other settings, I’d be happy to read them.

P.S. By the way, nconvert with Ultrafast ffmpeg speed = 16, while working fast, heats the processor up to 95 degrees Celsius, even stress tests never allowed that, staying within 85 degrees. With cwebp, the temperature is 2-3 degrees lower, and it also produces a visually better picture with a significant reduction in size (compared to nconvert), although it runs slower. I just need to figure out how to optimize its settings. I’ll also be reducing Uffs, especially in light of rising component costs.
1) I'll think about it in next UAGC test versions.
2) is official description of cwebp funtions. In UAGC info about lossless is cut off (should work with all images) so I'll fix it but anyway for good compression ratio lossless in big NO feature. I have no more info about cwebp adv settings besides that .
3) Strange but when compared long time ago cwebp and nconvert (webp vs webp formats) and same settings without using cwebp adv settings it gave same quality (both was set at 80) and size. Only difference was in CPU usage and compressing speed but it was about 5% difference but with adv settings cwebp could give a bit better image quality and lower image size but not much than ~10%. Ufast ffmpeg should not affect much webp compression unless it's cwebp with advanced settings. To load so much you CPU it should be either avif format or ffmpeg with VP9 video so I advice to check again in task manager what is rly loaded so much your CPU. Or it was compressing cwebp + process limit and VP9 video at same time or 4K game.

I'm not sure if it anyhow connected to UAGC since it's very complicated sandbox game with a lot of sh*t that could go wrong. But I'll try to look later.

Attempt to make auto non-latin fix make great again (read not being activated when it should) in engines where it used.

Webp works fine. Only avif has that problem.

I don't think anything would change no matter how many times u try but maybe it worth to try to switch to different avif tool since there are: nconvert+avif, imagemagick and libvips. My guess that game have some custom script for sprites that doesn't works well with avif images or/and it specific RenPy version bug.

Well I know that webp doesn't have the problem thats why I just compress it to webp @65% now and just post that one. Will maybe try another avif compression afte. Depends on how long this one will take tho.

Ok, good luck, I gonna go to sleep. Only thing that most likely would tell u if something wrong with images is to find those avif sprites inside the game files but since there are tons of it that would be too much efforts.

41k images.. And they are not labled what is what. This shit has 50 RPAs. And each of them have like 5+ subfolders.

Haha I usually ignore games with Live2D. But very well could be that.

Yeah seems like the version before was also broken but nobody pinged me lol. Ah well back to webp it is.
Usually just installing Live2D in the sdk is enough anyways just a bit annoying with auto building when its not installed.

I don't think I even have it installed in any distribution. But I doubt WEBP will make the game that much bigger anyway and probably run better anyway for most.

Its rather easy to install and doesn't do much, I don't even bother removing it (well needs a fresh sdk anyways) if I have to rebuild a version for the OP :KEK:
Yeah adds like 50 MB but it looks worse at 65% webp compared to 65% avif. From what megalol said 80% webp = 65% avif in quality. So its either same quality or ~size. Went for the size for tomorrow.
The issues people have with avif/av1 compression is only cause of the videos in av1. So if ya disable av1 it should not be any problems (aside from joyplay but that aint our problem lol), megalol said av1 is not really reducing the size of the videos only the speed of the compression is affected, so I just turn it off. Thats also the reason why I removed the "This might not work smoothly on older pcs" warning.

Bob69 megalol Can you tell me if this game Jugs Bay - Love, Lust, Adventure [v0.9.8] [NeonHappi] supports AV-1 video compression? Or maybe you know how to find this out through the game's files themselves (for example, like in the case of RenPy, where you can check the script version). I really don’t want to wait compression about 5 hours just to check.
This is problematic game (some versions don't works properly after compression and needs additional scripts editing) and it should be compressed using AV1, there are some info in OP. And with ur PC config it should take not longer than 1 hour.

megalol I apologize for going off-topic, but I simply don't know whom else to ask. I've been wondering for a long time: why are .rpa archives used in RenPy games, and why is there encryption in RPGM and other games? In the case of RPGM, I can understand that at some point it was meant to protect images from being stolen, but now decryptors are freely available, so it doesn't make sense anymore. With RenPy, it's even less clear, because the internet and AI give answers like: "to simplify the structure of the game," but .rpa archives actually preserve the same folder structure, and creating a .rpa archive is just an extra step, which also complicates the work for translators (and compressors, if they don't have UAGC). So why are these .rpa archives needed? What is their purpose? Wouldn't it be simpler to just organize the folders without creating a .rpa afterwards?
