It's not clarified.

All I know is he's got a reputation and had the powers for a while but nothing has been said about where they come from. Whether he was born with them or they came along later, we haven't been told.

Well some stories do at least try but lets be honest, this story is all about the power fantasy whether MC has unexplained powers or they are explained wouldn't make this story better lmao
