If resurrection magic actually existed, they'd probably have a bit of an overpopulation issue.
Luckily, there's a much more elegant alternative — necromancy.

I would say necromancy is on a dark side of magic since is manipulating death but its target is still bind to the caster to do as they will. While resurrection I would put it more on light side of magic, in some magic games settings is part of healing magic and usually the target comes back to life with practically the body and mind intact and "free". But more elegant well depends on the perspective . But KN is free to set their own variation of rules, that is the beauty of fantasy after all, more creative freedom.
Edit : And since it is said in the OP that this is a dark fantasy novel, yes necromancy makes much more sense.

I love everything about this, it ticks so many boxes for me, even ones I didn't know I wanted.
So all the renders you posted on the IU thread when you said you were practicing Daz were concepts of these characters.
If anything, I can already see massive improvements, especially for Rhiannon.
Are there any others? Might have missed one.

Yeah, as you can see, some characters have changed quite a bit — including Rhiannon herself. There were a few more renders too, though I’m not sure if I ever posted them.

They look amazing, your use of lighting makes it look like you've been studying it for years.
Also you've mentioned you favor a main protagonist that is already the best/strongest/most experienced character, which is also a big preference of mine and it makes such a huge difference.
For the signature, which if you allow me to suggest, go for something more flashy this time.

Made huge progress with the renders over the two weeks during the gold and silver releases of Instinct Unleashed.
Around 400 renders are fully done, and that’s already slightly past the halfway point of the prologue. Most likely I won’t go any further for now and will shift focus back to Instinct Unleashed.
Also, for those used to the high number of renders in IU — they’re way easier and faster to make there. In Undawn, the number of renders per chapter will probably be lower, or the amount of writing and actual content will be higher.

You said people can die...i will literally cry if you kill off a twin...which isn't always a bad thing...but i'm gonna hope not.EDIT: Oh, and it'd be fun to have some sort of crazy multi-holiday NON-CANON cross over event where new MC ends up in Jade's universe and they go on some sort of crazy futa tag team through Jade's harem...you could put Maddison in this since it's non-canon and the Maddison lovers could get another go...LOL or maybe she literally splits Maddison in half with her portal while maddison is talking shit to Ashley at some point

What's your approach to introducing all of the "invented" words/terms? I find some fantasy stories that have a lot of them tend to not really drill in the meaning when first introducing a term. Instead it gets used a couple of times in a single conversation then it pops back up an hour or two+ later with no context framing to help remember wtf it means.
New terms will be introduced naturally through character dialogue. Of course, the characters themselves won’t always stop to explain what a word means. Instead, the first time a term is used, there’ll be a small notification letting you know it’s been added to the in-game glossary. The glossary itself will be easy to access and will provide clear explanations.
Overall, the system will work much like a book that uses footnotes for unfamiliar terms.
