Greetings!

Some of you may know me from my previous or better say current game, Instinct Unleashed.
For others — this might be the first time we meet.

In this thread, I'd like to introduce my upcoming project — UNDAWN: Shackles of Eternity, a dark fantasy AVN that will be released after the final chapter of IU goes live.

This is a teaser thread. The game is still in active development. :HideThePain:
No public build is currently available. First release expected in late 2025.

What is Undawn?

Not for everyone.

Undawn is not a dating sim, slice-of-life or a harem adventure.
It’s a dark story about human (and not only) flaws and demons — sometimes literal ones. There are no heroes here.

Rhiannon is ancient, dangerous, and often merciless.
This world doesn’t care about what’s right — only what’s necessary and Rhiannon is no different.

Some characters will die. Some relationships will be destroyed.
And not every choice that feels right will turn out to be the right one.

Will there be adult content?

Of course! It’s still an AVN.

But the focus is on the characters and their stories.
Sex is part of the world, but it’s not the main point.
It shows up when it makes sense — as a reward, a connection, or sometimes an escape.
Not a checklist. Not a gimmick.

About the whole “futa” thing — let’s get this straight:

In my previous game, I got plenty of shit just for daring to use the sacred word “futanari” — apparently without following the exact holy scripture of what that word must entail.

So this time, I’m not using it.
There are no futanari in this game. At all. (Sorry Icarus :HideThePain: )

Rhiannon is not a “futanari” in the typical sense. She belongs to an ancient elven third gender called Aen’Tharoth — something that’s been mentioned before in my Discord and even the IU thread.

Aen’Tharoth are not magical transformations or “futa by choice.”
They’re a naturally occurring third sex in elven biology — capable of reproduction in both directions, but culturally and physically distinct from both male and female elves.

So what tf is an Aen’Tharoth, you might ask?

It’s a third gender — just as natural as male or female, but found only among elves and their descendants.

Aen’Tharoth are divided into two subtypes:

  • Aen’Thariel – individuals who appear female, but are born with both male and female reproductive traits. They can both conceive and impregnate.
  • Aen’Tharos – androgynous males, born with only female reproductive organs. They can carry children, but cannot impregnate.

This is not the result of magic or transformation. It’s biological, cultural, and deeply rooted in the lore of the world.

If you're here looking for standard futa-fetish content, you’re probably going to be disappointed.

Worldbuilding in Undawn

Undawn draws inspiration from a variety of real-world mythologies and cultures — from Slavic folklore to Norse sagas, from medieval Europe to ancient China. These influences shape the world’s rituals, beliefs, creatures and nations.

Some main and side characters for example.

The foundation is fantasy, but rooted in stories humanity have told for centuries.
If you sense echoes of The Witcher, Game of Thrones, or even The Lord of the Rings you’re not wrong.
I’ve always been a huge fan of fantasy — so it’s no surprise that stories like these helped shape my own.

Think the point is, the game is gonna be tagged as "futa" but in the lore the word futa is not going to be used.
I know that, the thing is that KN is doing that to avoid busybodies in the thread to discus definitions, but there are going to come regarles because of the tag.

Looks really amazing. Hats off to you when you compare this to the first scenes of IU.

Any chance BDSM will show up in the planned tags as well? Would be really nice especially if it takes place in a dark and gritty fantasy world.

Also, can we choose the sex partners like in IU? I don´t mind having the monster girl as a friend, but it is not my kink. The other girls look very hot btw.

I wish you all the best with this project!

Cheers to you!

Rhiannon being a former elven noble but now something more and the description talking about her being ancient, merciless and glowing violet eyes in the dark smells of vampiress to me. Interesting.

ps:
Kind Nightmares wanna bet someone will whine about how the game is not following a definition of futanari not even japanese authors adhere too anymore?:FacePalm:

Sure, there will most likely be some BDSM elements, though I can’t promise anything just yet. There are definitely ideas for a couple of future characters who might lean in that direction, but we’ll see how it unfolds.

Absolutely. All romances will be completely optional. The system will actually be different from IU — back then, rejecting a character basically removed them from the story. Here, you’ll still have to interact with them throughout the game — as a friend, a lover, or even as someone you push away or antagonize. But keep in mind, hostility may have consequences later in the story.

As for the romances themselves — there’s a core cast of love interests, and relationships with them will build slowly. Even if sex happens early, it doesn’t guarantee a happy ending. Take Irsha, for example — she’s been with Rhiannon from the very beginning, deeply bonded to her, and they’ve spent a long, long time together. But certain events might unfold that could pull her away from her mistress.

The same goes for the other major characters. You’ll get to know them first — maybe even become friends (as much as that’s possible in the world of Undawn) — and only then will you be able to decide if you want something more.

With side characters, things will be simpler. They’re more like optional side quests tied to the main story. Their narratives might be important, but romance won’t be required to experience them.

For instance, I know not everyone is into trap content — and that’s okay. But there’s a character named Loraine

whom Rhiannon will meet, and he has something she needs. Despite all her power and charisma, she won’t be able to take it by force — she’ll have to help him in return. You’ll get to know him, maybe become friends, or even something more, if that’s what you want.

That’s basically how the romance system will work.

@Kind Nightmares wanna bet someone will whine about how the game is not following a definition of futanari not even japanese authors adhere too anymore?:FacePalm:
People will always find something to complain about — “too big,” “too small,” “where’s the vagina,” “why isn’t the MC submissive,” you name it.
But I built this world not exactly because I didn’t want to rely on existing Japanese (or Western) fetish definitions.
This world exists to rethink the very definitions you’ve taken for granted — and maybe offer new ones. Though not everyone will be ready for that.

Yeah, some will say I’m reinventing the wheel or making things overly complicated.
But hey — if I wanted an easy ride, I’d be making an incest game with a male protagonist and calling it a day. :WeSmart:

May I ask why the question marks on these two tags? Does that mean they're path dependant or you're not sure about including them yet?
Yeah, they’re mostly path dependent.
If you choose a love interest and want them to get pregnant — they will.
If you prefer to stick with just one partner, that’s totally possible too.
The harem route will be a bit more complex though — it’ll depend on a combination of choices throughout the game.
