Chapter 1 - Devlog. #1

Hey everyone!

I’m back with regular progress updates on the development of the game.
First of all, I want to thank all of you for the feedback and impressions you shared after the prologue. Your comments helped me understand what went wrong and how to make things better going forward. The prologue was received very warmly, and that really means a lot to me. Thank you so much for that!

These last three weeks I didn’t take a break. Instead, I’ve been working on the script for Chapter 1, and I actually finished it just yesterday. I guess I just don’t know how to rest.
The script turned out huge, probably the biggest I’ve written so far. I’ll still tweak a few things during rendering, but overall I’m already happy with the result.

This chapter is shaping up to be big and packed with events. Without going into spoilers, you’ll face your first losses, the consequences of your choices from the prologue, and you’ll meet several new characters who might stay with you for a long time.

Some ominous as fuck comments there.

I think that nothing we do in town will go unanswered for by the authorities. The only question is if we get to keep our first girl in any routes or if she'll need to be rescued/avenged later. Probably rather certain that living in the forest hut any longer is out of the cards.

Work. Work, and more work.

This past week was pretty productive, even though I had to spend several days sitting for hours in a dentist’s chair. Still, I managed to complete some of the early chapter renders, and surprisingly, I’m actually happy with how they turned out.

At the same time, I created two new rooms from scratch in Rhiannon’s house, and these locations will be used in Chapter 1. There will already be a bit of action happening there, and you’ll see it very soon.
I also finished almost all of the main and secondary characters for this chapter. They’re fully ready, and I can’t wait for you to meet them. (And yes, Zaghrona is among them, and she definitely won’t be just a small cameo.)

I also had to rewrite and rework a couple of scenes in the script because the original versions felt pretty bad to me while I was writing them. Now I’m fully satisfied with how they turned out.

What’s next?
I need to create a few new environments for upcoming scenes, make several secondary and background characters, and continue working on renders, which is what I’m focusing on right now.

This game is already phenomenal. i played Instinct Unleashed since release and with this dev being the one that made that gem i am going to keep a very close eye on this. The Story Telling with the options draw you into the setting making you think even harder about what might come ahead. I cant wait for the next update.

Chapter 1 — Devlog #3

There isn’t much to report this week, except that a lot of work has been done on the renders. I stayed focused, and I finally found an almost perfect workflow that doesn’t drain me mentally or physically, while still letting me produce a solid amount of renders.
My PC basically hasn’t stopped running for days, so everything is moving according to plan.
I can also say that post-processing will take much less time this chapter. I managed to get the renders to look exactly the way I want straight out of the engine, without needing heavy adjustments afterward.
As usual, I don’t want to give any specific release dates. There’s still a lot of work ahead, and I’m one of those people who believes it’s better not to set promises too early.
