That's ofc your decision, but I would be better safe than sorry.I mean I ran it through totalvirus and they reckon it's clean too. I run most of the stuff I get from here through a sandbox anyway.

Explain the first step.I'm trying to run the Mac version on an iMac Pro running Sonoma. I've downloaded Unity Hub and installed the editor...
Trying to run the app by double clicking it simply says "The application “Under Control” can’t be opened"
Confused how to import/open the game in Unity hub...says it's not a valid app.
Anything obvious I'm doing wrong? Many thanks.
On his way to become a unity-dev.
I don't know, I wouldn't run it, just wait a bit as this is discussed in this thread actually, maybe wait until it's checked. So, is it safe to play right now, or not?
Was thinking about this thread as well. So, as far as I could analyze the file I didn't see any network activity from it but also couldn't figure out what it actually does. It was written on Ruby/Go in Jetbrains RubyMine if this can tell you anything lolI don't know, I wouldn't run it, just wait a bit as this is discussed in this thread actually, maybe wait until it's checked.
I have'nt downloaded the game, but what we know is that it drops/creates/makes or downloads a file in the AppData/Local/Temp folder (under_control.exe) and this is recognized by the AV as Trojan. It becomes problematic if it has already been executed and before the Trojan code was recognized other files were dropped or running processes were infiltrated that the AV judged as harmless or did not recognize. Was thinking about this thread as well. The interesting part is that I wasn't able to reproduce the downloading/obtaining process of the file, so couldn't even find out where it comes from. Will try it again some other day.
Definitely looks like a virus, however every way I checked doesn't seem to pick up on what it actually does... Most antiviruses don't see it as a virus either, but any legitimate reason to create Ruby exe in your temp folder on some random occasion? Looks very similar to renpy malware described in the F95 malware thread
One more notice - Microsoft antivirus thinks that it is, in fact, a virus and blocks it, so if this .exe would ever run on your system it would instantly block it, but this did not happen to me, I got a threat notification after my AV decided to go through my filesystem, I know it because it did detect other "virus" (false positive) on my PC some time before finding under_control.exe and long after I stopped messing with the game. So I assume it was never executed for me
My first step was trying to simply open the app. Didn't work.
A Trojan usually looks exactly like this. The problem is that it looks very suspicious for a legitimate file and not suspicious enough for a virus
What was your given error message? My first step was trying to simply open the app. Didn't work.
Just says "The application “Under Control” can’t be opened"What was your given error message?
Could also be a corrupted file, maybe redownload (after its checked).Just says "The application “Under Control” can’t be opened"
Doesn't appear as an option to Open Anyway in Privacy and Security settings.
Maybe it has something to do with this potential virus people are talking about and I shouldn't run it anyway...
At this point I suggest you to have have a windows install by virtual machineMy first step was trying to simply open the app. Didn't work.
Googled and seemed I needed the Unity hub to run a game on a Mac.
Also didn't work.
Further searching suggested installing the editor in order to import and open I guessed.
Also didn't work.
Either way glad you find it so funny, thanks for the help.
Game still doesn't open.
Now you're comparing me to a child.Ps. Didn't want to make fun of you but your reply was funny. I mean it's was like a child trying to figure out something simple. It's frustrating to child but it can be funny to others.
And before you feel bad, we all have been there(give or take couple decades)
Be glad, you probably dodged a bullet. (Yes, MacOs is targeted too as you can see in the Recent Malware infected games thread OP.)It's clearly not as simple as opening the app or that would have worked when it was the first thing I tried.
Dude it was aNow you're comparing me to a child.

I don't know how the f Unity games work. Some Ren'py games don't open or crash when opened standalone but when opened via Ren'py they work fine. My searching and logic thought it might be the case with Unity.
Nothing I tried worked so I asked for help. I don't feel bad.
