Hello everyone!! I just made a Public post about Underboss Life 0.25 Update progress. Please check that out in the links below!
The post originally estimated that patrons would get it mid to late November and it goes public early December. I presume that was a mistake?

Anyways, news has me looking forward to it. There's some great improvements.

Since it was kinda brought up in the post...

Is it possible to turn off the naming of saves? or have it not be a pop up but just a text box on the save screen? I rarely name it as it is, so it was never something I personally liked.

Another request would be more saves per screen. I save a lot, and traversing save pages can be a chore.

and lastly, sorry for you loss.
The named saves can be turned off in the settings, no worries.
The feature itself was requested by a few people, and considering that we plan to branch out storywise later on, it kinda made sense to just add it in now. It's purely optional though.

As for the more saves per screen, I am planning to make more changes to the menu gui in v0.3, so I'll keep it in mind for then.

As you can see on the Explanations, Patreon will get the update around Mid to Late November. But the game will be out for public in Early to Mid December. Since it's a public post, I decided to change the Patreon release estimation into the Public release estimation. Sorry for the confusion hehe :LOL:

Thanks for the update.
Couple of questions:

1) Since the upcoming update will have phone and the messaging system as well, any chance you'd consider implementing a social media app (something like instagram perhaps? Where students post posts + photos of their lives in and outside of college with replies from other students etc).

2) Camera feature on the phone would be pretty sweet too, with MC sometimes being able to take photos of the girls he interacts with (photos can be lewd or non-lewd depending on the situation). Also, perhaps this can be useful in your game's story as well (when MC is on a mission or something, doing something covertly)

Hello everyone! Long time no talk, I hope everyone is good and healthy like usual. First of all, please let me apologize for the lack of activity on either my Patreon page or Discord server these past few months.
For those who only want to know when the update will be out ↔ my best estimate is Early to mid December.
For those that want to know what's been going on ↔ keep reading
Explanations.
First, I'd like to explain why this update took so long to make.
Truth be told, these past few months have not been easy for me, I lost my Grandma that was really more like a mother to me, lost my best friend too because of Covid, followed by a lot of "Family problems" after my grandma passed away.
I also had to face my own identity crisis as a developer. But thanks to Woodz, Xem, Oyte, Zent, and Tazaaron, finally I feel like I'm back on the right track. Without their moral support, it might've been hard for me to rise from those dark days.
On to the game itself- let me explain what was happening during these last 7 months of development, there's a lot of changes that have happened to the game. To be honest we changed almost everything. First, we reworked the code of the game. Right now, it's more tidy and we can find bugs easily if we get one. We also reworked the whole script too (God damn it's way better than before!) and because of that, we had to remake several scenes so it can run smoothly alongside the script. The last things I still have to do is just to remake some early scenes from the game, and I believe I can finish that up by the end of the month. But even if I can finish the images at the end of the month, we still have to proofread the whole script again, re-play the game to find bugs, and polish the game with some sound effects after. After that, the Beta version of the game will be ready to play. So if you ask me when you will get the update, I estimate it will be mid to late November for Patreon release and early to mid December for Public release.
New Feature.
There's also 2 new features that you can enjoy in the next update and here they are.⏬
Main Menu.


As you can see above, we have a new design of the Main Menu. I'm quite happy with how it's turned out and yes, as you can see from the next update you can name your saves! The reason behind this is that there will be a lot of different scenes that you can't see in one play through so I believe this feature is gonna be useful for you in future.
Phone&Messaging System.
As well as the main menu, we're also gonna have a Phone Feature as well! The phone is ready to use and for me it's cool as hell! It's also quite useful for the game since it has "Contact" feature that track down every character that you met inside the game and your relationship with them. Here's how it looks-



The picture above is a glimpse of the Contact Feature that you can enjoy on next update. On the left side is list of characters that you meet inside the game and on the right side is button that navigates between tabs on the contact feature. It really took quite a lot of time to finish this feature but thanks to the lord of pervs, finally we got it done!
Characters Remake.
We also remade 2 characters into something more beautiful and enjoyable to see. Both of them are important characters and are also planned to be Love Interests as well. This is how they looks before and after.

0.25 SPOILER&Previews.
Well, I bet some of you are waiting for this. To be honest, the amount of content on 0.25 is not as much as you might think. Basically, it's just what MC does the day after he got shot. So there will be no College scenes on this update but you can see college action again on the next update after this one. Here's some Previews, I'll try my best not to spoil anything for you with them.


Tech Issues.
So recently, I tried to check my FPS while running HS. To be honest with you, I was so shocked when I saw the results lol. I know that my laptop is a potato laptop, but I didn't expect that it would be this low.

Picture above is when I open HS in a blank workspace. As you can see, even without adding anything to the scene, my laptop runs HS on 28-29 FPS. It really shocked me because I thought I ran HS on 60 FPS but seems like I was wrong on this one. And you know what? After I set up a scene (Add characters, lightning and effect.) the FPS even got worsen than before. Here's the proof.

So seems like this whole time I've been developing a game in 8-15 FPS lol. That explains why I can't add too much Characters/Items in one scene. It's sad tbh, because I can't make detailed scene/image like I wanted to be. But still, I'm always trying my best to make the best image that I can for the game! And for a temporary solve, I was thinking to add one more 4GB RAM to my laptop and hoping that it can improve the FPS so I can make better Image later.
Closing.
I think that's all that I can tell you guys right now, I know it's been a while since last update, but please understand that I'm also doing my best here. We just need to finish the prologue scene remake and Alpha version of UBL 0.25 will be ready soon after that. 1) Yes, a social media app is definitely something I was (and am) considering to add to the phone functionality. Such a system would be fairly complex though, so I decided against it for the first version of the phone, since I have yet to see the general reception of the player base. Should there be any demand for it, I'd definitely be willing to try adding it to the game.

2) v0.25 will add a gallery feature to the game which automatically saves memorable moments for the player to review. These images are persistent, meaning the gallery is not reset after starting a new game, and the player can therefore try to collect them all through multiple playthroughs.
As for a functionality for the players to decide themselves which pictures to take, I am definitely open to the idea. Perhaps this can even be used as a sort of optional gameplay for the photography club.

On a sidenote: Apart from the gallery, there will also be a memory tab, in which the player will be able to revisit sexual scenes they have previously seen. These memories are, just as the gallery, completion based, and can therefore be unlocked through several playthroughs if the players wants to do so.

Yes, the new update will add an optional quick-time-event system to the game. For now it's going to be for shooting only, but it has potential to be applied for movement and the like as well.
It's highly experimental though, so if it stays in the game or not is highly dependent on player feedback.

First, before anything else: I am so sorry for your double loss. Things like that are really really hard, and my heart goes out to you.
Second, thanks for the update on what was going on with the game and all the new features. UBL is an amazing game already, and the new features look like they will only make it even better. And kudos to you for doing such a good job with the technical issues you've got, producing renders like these with only 8FPS to work with is no mean feat! I look forward to the new release ;)

8th months without update
Dude the update is soon to come on december and i get you the wait has been long and sometimes you feel like there is gonna be no more hopefully Eranfer does release the update on december otherwise its going to be dissapointing and some of his fans will lose the trust they have on him and honestly i understand Eranfer on his loss and it takes time for that kind of thing to heal

Eranfer is working hard, i told him to take a break but he wont stop. The game has been revamped and this being his first game and a new dev he has had alot to learn to make everything better on top of the personal issues he has had plus a crappy cpu and 3 wheeled chair, haha.
