It freezes during fights, e.g. overhead strike half the time just pauses the game on "You raise your sword upward. Preparing to deal a devastating blow in the next turn"
That one's actually intentional. "Big moves" have a "wind-up" turn, for both PC and enemies. The idea is that it gives you a chance to interrupt the move (if you have the AP to do a Pommel Strike). On occasion the game will also not let you attack (because PC lust high/spirit low) but you should be able to click other options then.
Personally, the only "freeze" I've experienced is during exploration of the first dungeon. The "enemy encounter" link is supposed to result in combat right away, but sometimes it will have to be clicked multiple times - advancing PC further into the labyrinth with each click but not triggering the fight and not letting you pick anything else (all other options are removed, as is usual when an encounter pops up).
Does the player character stay male or is that unavoidable?
Corruption results in feminization. "Temporary" corruption (listed as X in X/Y) can be removed by the NPC in the church (up to 4 points per day or rest period) and by items (holy water from the docks, scroll from captain or scavenged). If you hit X > Y, though, you go up a corruption LEVEL, and those are permanent. The effect is incremental (PC does not become female instantly) but irreversible.
That said, there is a plot scene where PC can become instantly female. It occurs after PC obtains the first quest item and talks to the knight in the tavern about it.
The character who takes the lead will experience the effect.
EDIT: This thread is definitely missing multiple tags. Trap and Futa/Trans, at least, in addition to the ones already mentioned. Also there's now
beast/fur/monstergirls, depending on what you consider a bipedal (were)wolf with no human form and those he turns into his catgirl harem, found when reading certain journals.
