Hey guys, I’m finally back with some news.
Today I will keep things short and straight. Probably, not all of you are going to like it.
First of all, I want to say that I felt quite bad for not delivering, and I was even a bit embarrassed to read your messages. I know you’ve been expecting updates, but the hard truth I realized is that I can’t meet those expectations in the current state of things.
So, I took some time over the summer to think about the future of this project, and here are my thoughts:
- If I want this project to stay alive, I need to deliver faster.
- Working part-time, I simply can’t maintain a game with endlessly branching storylines.
- I’m not sure I could push this full-time either, because some branches lead into stories I don’t feel motivated to finish.
- I don’t enjoy the previous writing style. I want the story to feel more dynamic, with sharper twists and faster development. Describing every small detail just kills the momentum.
- Tons of other micro-issues that complicates the game development.
But the most important is this: when I first started visual novels, I wanted to create my own corruption story — tempting, depraving, and even heartbreaking. Today, I feel that my focus is being shifted to other secondary things.
That’s why I’ve decided to
pivot the game. I’m now working on a new project called
“Fiancee”.
Here’s what I can share right now:
- It will still be Diana’s corruption story, but without big branching choices deciding the outcome. Though, small interactive moments will stay (like picking outfits, etc.).
- Dialogues will be shorter and story told in first-person, with Diana as the narrator.
- Most characters will remain, though some will change. And there will be new ones.
- I already have the full corruption scenario drafted, so there won’t be moments where I get stuck figuring out “what’s next.”
- Other characters’ stories will also appear, perhaps they will still be told from Diana’s perspective.
It is already under development, and in the next update, I will give you more details. Eventually, it will be a corruption game with a strong story-telling, but in a linear format.
