No, it's not. The game is not that difficult, especially if you know what you're doing. It's a noticable bonus, but more of a min max thing rather than build defining. I mean, I'm doing fine as wizard with 90% order, but If I could respec into strength for fighter, or wear priest clothes I'd be stronger.
I applaud the attempt lol. I'm gonna start my 2nd run too today and go all chaos/evil and see where I end up with my choices. Love this game.
If youre going to NG+ id advice to wait for dazed to update his translation to 1.08 since 1.08 fixes a lot of NG+ bugs.

Two ways to enter that place,somewhere in the mining cave where you ride a cart to get there,get kidnapped by slave trader,then i kinda remember killing the guards and go up.Mind your fatigue

There are prayer spells that boost your melee damage and provides other support so it is possible. You just won't be able to rely on damage spells
YW. Cant really tell you anything else similar to this but these are some duengeon(level)-like games that are actually good:
You have to go the first floor of the dungeon, to the main courtyard. Then, go down to the left, pass the trees that hides a path. Down that path, you will see the kid with a goblin.
Go down the city sewer, find the bar, and there will be a guy who can take the chains off.
