Exactly. That's why I said he should finish it first and then polish whatever he likes. These mid game remakes are unnecessary and frankly annoying. If there was a poll I don't know about then I'll retract my comments. Since I'm not a patreon I understand my opinion holds no weight.

That's not the point. Not everyone likes to start over when they've put so much time into a game. Especially if your saves don't work after every update(which hasn't been the case here thankfully). Adding content to points of the game that everyone has passed already is useless, unless you're just starting out. You condemn people for not agreeing with the way the dev is moving backwards essentially. The project is supposed to move in one direction only and that's forward. This isn't a regular VN it's a sandbox style too so not being able to just fast forward through the seen content is frustrating to say the least. Having to point and click and remembering your choices from before also.

There's been no indication that a restart will be required. We'll have to wait for 1.6 to find out for sure, but it's pretty pointless just automatically assuming the worst each time.

This is true.

There's also the fact that we've known a rework of the first few updates was coming for a while now. It's not like this was sprung on everyone out of the blue, DreamNow has been saying an early game rework was going to be happening for a good year or so.

1) UOP has moved from Ren'Py version 7.4.4 to 8.3.0 (x32 systems is no longer supported)

2) Dialogues and events
- Approximately 6,000 lines of code have been rewritten, covering 14 events in total, plus one new small event
- Added new dialogues to enhance some scenes (for example, the bottle game with Carol, Yuki, and Ashley has more dialogue to capture the vibe of a real freshman/sophomore house party)
- Some dialogue has been adjusted to better reflect the personalities of the girls
- All those dialogues has been proofreaded (up to the first event in Yuki's massage room)

3) Renders, animations, etc
- 913 new and remaded renders
- 13 new animations
- New pics to Memories tab in the MC's diary for the remaded scenes
- 7 updated pics for the first posts in PVU Pics app
- 2 remaded pics for PVU Lewd app
- Added a new screen for the end of updates
- Added new images for the tutorial at the beginning of the game

4) Music
- All music and sound effects have been re-compressed and volume-equalized
- Some old music tracks have been replaced, and a few have been removed entirely

5) UI improvements
- Added convenient scroll bars for all in-game phone apps
- PVU Lewd pics now have numbering, making it easier to see which ones you haven’t unlocked yet in official Walkthrough
- Disabled scrolling and skipping dialogue with the mouse wheel and "CTRL" button while using in-game phone apps
- Thanks to the new Ren'Py version, all emojis are now in color, and there’s nearly a full set available
- Added a loading screen when the player launches the game
- Replaced the large character images that slide up and down with a draggable screen (now you can scroll all of them and even zoom in on some images)
- No more laggy or slideshow-like animations

Some of us don't want to lay through what we already did, especially since the early parts of these games are almost always boring. That's kind of the point of having a save not having to start over.

Update: I get it now. Mostly change the renpy version. I think we all need to have a new start for the game.

If it requires a restart anywhere close to this far in, it gets deleted. The whole point of a save is not to have to play through everything again, especially the boring early no sex parts.

I would suggest the only cause of requiring a restart should be the upgraded Ren'Py version, but even that should be workable, otherwise we'd already know it from all the complaining in every other thread. Anything outside of that comes down to poor coding and/or choices by the dev (caveat: I don't know what I'm talking about, so this is only speculation and should be taken as such).
