This thread is exempt from that rule.
You do have that flashy moderator tag, I would assume you could put in your opinion to do something about this thread entirely if you agree about the dev.
Got me there
Imagine using the wrong spelling multiple times when you're calling people dumb....
Maybe I should have said yurie? I suppose it's good i'm not the writer for my project lmao.
Ah yes, better things like defending a dev that's not worth defending while also antagonizing potential customers for no good reason... teach me more sensei!
For the 900th time I am not defending the dev, have zero comment on his patreon promise even though I did read the post (here, not there--I've never even seen their Patreon page), I mean you people are practically posting their promises to commitment for them...and if these are the type of customers I'm antagonizing...I am more than happy to say please never follow my game, we don't need your money if it comes with your toxic attitude, even if we would never give you a reason to act this way...your not worth the funding.

I just happen to like the redhead, I come here for the art honestly.

EDIT:

I don't look at users as potential customers, I look at users as fellow people, and gamers. If they choose to support us having more time to dedicate to the project...sweet. But thats not why we made a game in the first place, I actually requested it was uploaded here during the first release...because people playing it and enjoying it means more to us than the money.

I know that may be a hard concept to grasp for users of this site....but it doesn't change the fact that its where we stand on the matter. You can hate me for my opinion all day long, I don't really give a shit...the money is just a bonus.

Matter of fact, I think i'll go give the guy who reacted with a crown a 6 month free Deity sub just for shits.

Check your PMs my friend, just for being rational ;)

I don't like scammers. You clearly seem to be ok with it.
Let me be clear that I don't.
when I give my hard earned money
Look, your right...I don't know how much money you may have given them, I really didn't come in here looking for a fight, but your at it so much I actually remember your username....to the point its having a negative effect on what your trying to accomplish.

I know nothing of this situation more than it's overkill...and how long the games been in development, which I agree is quite a long time.

So, the new version has been released to Pat 6 days ago, hopefully it would be here soon (official).

That part I put in italics is literally the dumbest thing you can say. If massive corporations spending hundreds of millions of dollars on a project are being forced to eat shit after making such a statement, how do you think that will work out for you or other indy devs? You're not marrying these people. They're not your friends. Your goal should be to make something people enjoy, period. I don't want to get involved in your life, your relationships, anything. I want you to succeed, but I don't want to have to hold your or any other develops hands for you to achieve that success. If some miracle happens and we did become friends, cool, your game would still be separate from that relationship and if you can't take fair criticism from a friend, that's even more of a personal problem.

The line about "posting their promises to commitment for them" I have to assume means that when the dev makes a promise to do something, people are holding them to those promises. And THAT IS HOW IT WORKS. A promise IS a commitment. It is a statement of absolute, even when it is about a non-absolute. So if you promise to try, you are stating you are going to do everything in your power to achieve that goal, even if it is unrealistic. If you promise your update will be done by 11/11/11, you have committed to that release date and short of a natural disaster, nothing should ever prevent that. I work in production, have for over a decade, and only 1 time in all of those years have we been working up to our products release date. And that was due to a faulty packaging machine, where we had to fly all over the country just to check the packaging on every...single...unit.

You're providing a good/service. People are inherently potential customers. There is no division between the two, they are one and the same. If you're a 5yo selling lemonade, your parents are potential customers. It might be a bit weird to selling your dad your porn game, but it is a potentiality... It's cool when devs want to have open discourse with your customers, but you need to understand what that implies though. I know this isn't your game, but it holds true for this dev and his refusal to have discourse as well. People are going to have opinions about your product. Not all are going to be good, not all are going to be mean.

Never say something you can't back up. Patreon and SS protections don't actually protect you from shit if you do. I'll leave it at that.
