After a break, I got back to my game, played it from a different point of view. What I can say is that the plot is not bad. I have zero clues what it got so much negativity. 1 star reviews? Horrible MC? Shitty plot? This is all so strange to me. Maybe I'm just a dumb writer who can't see his horrible writing. Who knows.

It's official! You are not just a deluded person but also a lost cause. I've been here for years and I've never met a developer like you.

No one, I said NO ONE liked the horrible MC or the shitty plot you created. As someone mentioned, you believe that everyone is wrong and that you are the only one right. Now do you understand when I tell you that you are too arrogant?

You were the creator of one of the best sandbox games on this damn site. Do you have any idea the potential your game has? You have everything you need to be one of the most successful developers on the F95zone.

Look at your fanbase, look at these people trying to help you. Not all developers were so lucky, most had to find out for themselves that they were doing it wrong while people left without saying why.

Like I said, I've been here for years. When you started out and were just a humble guy, I saw a lot of people using your game's signature or profile pictures of your characters. Where are these people? You lost these people, Waifston.

You are even losing fans who play your game for free, did you really think you would not lose patreons? They don't want to throw their money in the trash.

If you keep acting like this, these people who are trying to help you will also turn their backs on you. Not because they're ungrateful, but because you turned your back on them first.

Don't care? This is ridiculous. I care much about the game, it's the work of my life. I didn't say that there's nothing wrong with the game, I know PE has some issues. It's in the early development and there are lots to work to be done, lots of stuff to be added. But I'm willing to work on it, I have a lot of free time during summer and I'll spend all of it on game development.
The thing that frustrates me and makes me lose faith in myself is these awful reviews and the lack of progress. 3 months straight, not a single positive comment, not a slight of progress. It's all stuck in one place and decaying.
You making me think that to create a good game you need to possess god-like writing skills, real-life renders + next-gen game mechanics.

Seems we have a communication error. I meant you don't care about us and our opinions. It's obvious you care about the game, it's really the only reason I'm as obstinate as I am right now because it's frustrating when you stumble -- I genuinely want to see you succeed because of how much you care about the game. However, when we try to help you understand our concerns you don't really come off like you actually are taking what we say into consideration. You say you are, but haven't really shown it so far.

And you don't need Godlike writing skills. You just need to keep it simple and keep it fun, those are your narrative strengths. You're making things overly complicated when you introduce conflict after conflict because why should the MC want anything to do with these people? Would you?

As for renders and mechanics, I don't think anyone mentioned those negatively... aside from the clicking mechanic during sex. I'm not sure why you think that way about those two aspects.

I know you're depressed by all of this and feeling overwhelmed, but that's what you signed up for when you made this game. It's what you signed up for when you tried to improve it. You'll have my empathy, but you won't have my sympathy.

Take a break. Try to find something fun in your life and see if you can't recapture that energy in the game.

You folks give feedback as negative as if I destroyed the whole game. Butchered every damn character. Created a buggy mess with no story.
My intention was only to improve the game, make a more logical story, give characters more clear goals, improve game mechanics, improve renders with animations.

As for this "puzzle"... I could try to make sense of part of it :

First, IMO the remake was not an improvement. But was it THAT bad? No. Honestly I think the game became less pleasurable to play but it's not THAT bad. And it looks like some "simple" stuff could be done to "fix" most of it :
- fix Elena's boobs (people got used to her Ginormous boobs even if you can't find something like that IRL, it's a porn game. People play those game for this kind of stuff. Remove a candy from the hands of a baby at they will CRY)
- fix MC's dick shrinking illness and bring it back to the size he was before
=> in general, changing the appearance of characters is Never a good idea.
- as for the new UI, I personally don't mind it. I don't mind all those details about the women.
- the writing... OK, you can find faaar worse writing sh*t on f95 that don't get all this hate from players. Here is the issue : people didn't follow this game because of the writing. They tagged along because it was just a Simple Chill Fun game with HOT women. You don't need more than that to get a Great porn game. However, did the 'new direction' in the writing bring more to the [Simple Chill Fun] game we had before? For some, maybe... but for most of the players, no. Looks like the group that like an excellent dramatic story and the Group that are just here to Chill and have Fun are not necessarily the same. Unfortunatly, it's difficult to please both groups at the same time, and honestly, I don't think it's worth the hassle. The [simple chill & fun] group feels frustrated while the group that like good writings... are just not here yet. So it all come this this idiom : Know your target audience.

That's my 2 cents.

Yep, and thratening to put one star reviews or putting 1 star reviews for a game that clearly isn't a 1 star game is a great sign of love I know what internet is, "grown boy". I didn't say it was hate. I said it LOOKS LIKE hate. That's what 1 star reviews looks like, that's all.

Facts : 1 star means "terrible" ; 5 stars means "excellent". This is the website's classification and all it means is a game's appreciation. There is no emotional ratings like love and hate as people does not tend to feel such vivid feelings for a simple game - if you do, you are emotionally ill.

Now, where you see "nuance", I see softness, prudishness and fear to see things for what they really are. This is not nuance. This is intellectual weakening. And this is proved by your lacking reasoning : "there are valid 1-star reviews but they lose credibility because they are 1-star rates".
If one thinks this game is terrible, and even takes time to describe his displeasure, who are you to say they lack basic sense of nuance - meaning "they're dumb" ? You are unable to look at negativity without calling it hate, frustration and so on... and to you, those reviews lack nuance ?

I won't comment on your contemptuous tone and your diss on IQ as only the most simple-minded people base intellectual prowess on it.

You didn't even play the game, did you? There is nothing wrong with Elena's breasts in the new version of the game. You're probably one of those people who don't know what you're talking about, but wants to pose like a good Samaritan and lecture people just to make you feel better.

Since I played the new version before the old one I'll throw in my two cents. For starters, the new version is hands down way better, at basically everything. The real (but large) downside is lack of content compared to the first one. Even then, character-wise, story-wise, sex-scene wise, it's just miles better than the original, so good job at the improvement.

However, you can't just take an existing game, revamp it entirely, then be like "It's the Premium Edition", and expect people to just accept it. The new version is an entirely different game, just with similar (not even the same) characters and setting as the original. You would have been better off ending the original game, and claiming this was a sequel or something. Hell, these are porn games, the bar is set pretty low, so you could have said the entire first game was just a dream as the intro to the second one and took it over from there lol.

Admittedly, I don't actually know how complete the original one was, so maybe that would have come off more as abandoning it rather than finishing it.

Waifston should have created another thread for the Premium Edition version and put the "abandoned" tag on the old version. Every time an update is released it will attract new people to the game, as soon as those people see it as a remake, the negative comments will appear. Nobody likes remakes, much less developers who are in favor of remaking the game from scratch.

Yeah, the "boob shrinkage", along with Kate's "makeover" was in the Christmas special, with the start of Waifston's "experimentations". Which was received so well, it forced him to remake it and say he learned his lesson and he'll think twice before making any other big changes in the future...
And then he completely changed the main character (both in terms of looks and behaviour) and pretty much the whole story of the game, because if people didn't like the two visual changes he made in the Christmas special, they were going to love a complete remake!
And he still can't understand where the complaints are coming from...
