When he is ready, likely it just took quite a bit more work as he suspected to set all of old game over with new quality renders and some of the new mechanics like the date one and trying to find places to include some of the new characters with old story.
Nothing weird or unexpected I think.

When I said I would take a few weeks off, I didn't expect to see this situation when I got back...
I'm surprised in a good way. I believe Waifston made the right choice when he decided to go back to work on the original game and redo Alice's intro. When it comes to updates, the year was wasted. But at least we'll get a really improved version of the original game as people expected when the Premium Edition was announced.
Do you know what the best part of all this is? With Alice's prologue and story changes there is a chance the Christmas episode will now become obsolete! Haha!
