It's before the bug, if that helps. You can decide in the mission not to meet Renata and do the other missions if you have the code.

by the point am told am supposed to manage happiness, it's already 0, and the next event didn't offer me the possibility to give him a gift so gameover with no way to cheat my way out of it...

Piecemeal selling a buggy game is moronic. You can ask for help and donations but to limit your game when its in early access, and so obviously unfinished, is just adding workload and bugs to something you already struggle with. And complaining in a pirate forum that people aren't respecting your private codes just makes you appear contemptible rather than someone worth supporting.
you can do it anytime, go into the item list and click on present and it will give it to him.
I donated to the patreon and even I didnt get the right code (for v6.0), the code in the membership section is still the old one (incorrect now).
There's no code anywhere else that works as far as I've seen. I'm locked out of the main quest cuz I dont have the right code. This is so disappointed man
