Ok, just started this and I have to say I'm a bit disappointed with hwo the hero acts. Since he looks a bit like Limule or Rimuru for those who prefer lol. I expected him to either be a badass shotacon like him or a subby slut depending on the players choices. Yk, usualyy in AVNs when you have a shota he's basically getting screwed everytime lol. SO yeah, I expected him to be a bit more idk, intelligent, "badass" this time given the summary.
Now, maybe it's just him acting that way so no one doubts him. However wth, smn with such big influence and who is "the last hope" and you tell him you won't speak of the reason the war is happening? (Maybe I misunderstood but she litteraly said : I can't tell you the reason lol)
I was expecting him to say smt like "if you don't tell me why should I put my life on the line for people who don't trust me". He's acting like a good little soldier "what do I need to do, who, will I be working with, where do you need me" and I don't rly like it. Hope we'll have the option to change that behavior. You can be a hero without necessarily being dumb or "naive".
It's like nearly dying while fighting for what was probably a queen once didn't teach him anything.
I'd have prefered if we had some options during that dialogue that would perhaps change a loyaltty or freedom stats maybe even a dassertiveness/passiveness stat. Code Geass spoiler : You can be a good guy while making what seems like bad guy decisions a bit like lelouch, that's what a ture hero is he doesn't everyone to think of him as a hero , don't spoil yourself if you didn't watch the show. I think there are 3 season the rest is bs, it's a frkin masterpiece enjoy.
Ik Ik, I'm currently only at the convo with Runa. I just started the game, but smt I just need to get it off my chest lol.
Hope, you won't hold it against me, I just needed to unwind.
[EDIT]
Ok I arrived at the angel's envoy and it seems he isn't that dumb. Seems like MC just doesn't have any useless ego and just doesn't care abt what's being, instead he prefers listening and acting only when the situation demands it. He also have suicidal tendecies, prbbly lost a lot of ppl he cared for when fighting the overlorld or whatever, maybe that's why he seems so detached and empty.
Well, it seems like for now he's using the undercover tactic.
It'd have been great however to have the player more involved.

THX
I understand the disappointment in how he acts, but as you said in the edit, he really just doesn't care right now. The reason is expanded on in the next update at the end of the month, but needless to say, when you go to fight the strongest monster alive, not everyone makes it back alive.
Also keep in mind he's a twenty something year-old guy who was raised in a war and lost his entire family during it. He's not going to be very well adjusted emotionally.
I do plan on showing just how powerful he is later on, but keep in mind that power didn't matter when he was sealed away, so who's to say it couldn't be done again if he's not careful? There will be times he has to fight however, which will show that he is actually as strong as everyone thinks he is, but I don't want it to be a Gary Stue situation where he can solve everything and is making the perfect choices every time, or can just force people to do things without any real consequences.
I do plan to flesh it out a bit more that he's only doing what they say because he doesn't want to risk making enemies of those around him. Why would he risk that when he can just pretend to not question anything. After all, hero's are usually naive and trusting, so why wouldn't he take advantage of that assumption?
I said this in a different reply, but if you were the monsters and the guy who killed one of the strongest monsters to ever live suddenly came back a thousand years later, would you risk pissing him off if he doesn't agree with your reasons, regardless of how justified they may be in your eyes?
As I said above in my snide comment, he's not dumb or naive, in my opinion dumb or naive in his situation would be trying to brute force his way to the answers he wants. Dumb because he could potentially be sealed again or killed if he can't go all out because of collateral damage and innocents dying in the crossfire. Naive because he would be assuming they'd even tell him the truth if he showed up and used force to make them answer his questions.
There will be much more player choice in the future, this is just the setup for when you get information and can start making informed decisions about who to trust and not, who knows more than they want you to think they do, who's on his side regardless of his choices, etc. Any choices given.
It's not a massive spoiler since the next update explains a lot about the war and why it's happening, so I'll say you will eventually be given a major choice with serious consequences. As I said in a previous comment, it's not a MGQ situation where monsters are good and angels are bad. It's not that simple.
As for what a hero really is, what they're willing to do and how far they'll go, etc, it's pretty much stated that will come up later in the story in the synopsis, where he's asked if after he learns the truth he'll "remake the world in
his image", his being Nathan's. It's not just a cliche 'the hero would never give in to temptation' thing. Based on choices throughout the story, his beliefs can and will waver and even change drastically, changing the outcome of the entire story.
The best visual novels and even games in general I've played let you make decisions that effect the outcome drastically and that's the kind of game I want to make.
I don't mind people giving opinions based on where they are in the story, in fact it helps me see what people like and don't like before getting to content that may change their opinion on what's happening. If the very start makes people lose interest, they might not stick around to see later parts that may have kept them invested in the story.
Thanks for taking the time to write out your comment.
