Fair enough, but you probably missed the part where the MC just pulled a Houdini, abandoned and cut off all contact with her for 20 long years (!!) claiming she became too controlling and possessive (where have we heard this bs excuse IRL, I wonder) simply bcz she wanted him to try his luck at becoming a businessman and he considered being shot at in the military was the better option.

Motherfucker's lucky she still talking to him, wanting something even remotely romantic with her should be out of the question, but on the plus side, it seems like she trying to get back with him, considering her suggestive remarks and the way she dresses on some occasions in the story.
