You know, when I first saw nergals post about statues I was like really? Just Jennings and Amos? What about Kimberly or Brigette or Lisa? Why just two of the dark skinned women? What about the people who aren't really attracted to darker women.
It is for the Otakus.
Did Chilly followed my advice?
To make a successful game that you are going to make money off of and I hope Chilly is listening.
1) You need to make a free accessible written format of it that draws upon the one particular scenario of how events will unfold and how they transgress. And you make this free because it allows you two things: Devotees and Constructive Criticism. And you need Constructive Criticism so before you get anything with drawings, you know how to change things to make them better and get more patron dollars and whatnot.
2) You make a free branching story game. There are example of such on this forum of games that are just entirely text. You simply get the easiest program available and make one of your own to involve the ideal branches that come to mind. You allow people to make their own but insist the follow the same story style of writing and avoid using certain themes, plus provide a donation. If all these criteria are met, their additional sub-story will be included. This reduces the amount of time you have to dedicate to story writing and it allows you to acquire some money. But remember, you initial story has to be decent enough for people to feel invested in providing you content. You will also need to include the individual in the credits and a story contributor or additional story writer.
3) Now comes to making the game and this involves making an announcement and asking for people to help make the game of the particular easy style that comes to mind, a visual novel. Visual novels are the easiest stories to make and once made, easy cash, then you can use the money and make the actual game you plan on making. You can also hire artists too. Now this all depends on your own skills. If you are great artist, but a poor programmer, then you want to make sure you hire a sufficient programmer of notable skill and history. You might want to test the individual to guarantee they got the goods before giving them a full contract. With an artist, you don't have to work on a contract, but you should make sure who you hire is up to the task and has past work you can look at to make sure this the guy or girl you want. You simply need an agreement of ongoing commissions in which each commission will be paid for.
4) Once the visual novel game is made (probably through ren'py, you can then focus on your actual game and include additional stuff of interest to make the game add more than what the previous game had. You can probably also hire additional staff and additional artists.
5) Do the same but make in 3D, if it was previous in 2D. And if it was previously in 2D, make in 3D, but also add in additional content, perhaps even an additional story like a sequel. You can decide to make the sequel in 2D if you want. You can also change the format to make it a completely different game. Like make the second game similar to Urban Demons and Slice of Venture, while the third game could be more similar to Sims.
6) Now with the same three games, translate them all to different languages. Starting with Chinese and in the Chinese game, make any antagonists in the game be Japanese. This will sell big in China. But make sure whoever you do business with is on the up and up with the government in Beijing, specifically with Xi Jinping or someone who works for him and is in a good relation, specifically a dependable relation. And make sure whatever you sign doesn't involve selling anything other than the game with guarantee of profit in return. Make sure you explicitly state: "The game is designed to be entirely friendly for a Chinese audience, respecting the Chinese people and offering an item of interest for the Chinese buyer that follows established legality under Chinese Law from the Communist Party of China." As long as all of these are met, your games will sell like hotcakes and you'll be a millionaire in no time.
7) Don't forget to provide free update for each game on f95zone as they are being developed. It will guarantee more patreon money or whatever it is you are using to get money as each game is being developed.
Then you can do whatever you want, you are a millionaire. Wowwie Wow.
