I would stick to Ren'py ngl.
It's light weight, can be played on a browser, and is relatively well documented.
There's a reason you see the majority of games on Ren'py.

Not sure why the forced push into using the cheat option from the game settings menu exists, when it doesn't even really do what most people would want (the most wanted cheat was just exclusively gold from what I managed to find in this sub)
Because the shift+o shortcut works
Even if I go into the library file and enable developer, the developer menu doesn't show (shift+d shortcut), so it must've been most likely disabled, as even shift+e works
Commands involving a location (like Gaunteinguk.morale = x) work, however something as simple as gold, which was previously just "gold = x", now doesn't work because the variable got changed by the dev, who ever since the change keeps saying how people should "just use the cheat from the menu" and how they "don't know the command", after which they repeat the "just use the cheat from the menu" line.

Yes. The next* update will consists mostly of adding animations to scenes which don't have them, some re-rendering of really shitty renders, and other minor fixes.
(*which may be split to two so I can push some fixed content before the Steam Winter Sale)
1. What is the problem with VN mode?
2. Try $khaganate.gold. Didn't try it but it might work.

No dollar sign in shift+o console, it's already in python. So
khaganate.gold = X

I cannot figure out how to add new troops over my initial 30. On the Guanteinguk screen is shows 4/8 for Troops but it is grey. Morale is 28 and Obedience is 100. Without kicking into VN mode, what am I missing? I tried a combat combat with Marbia and got owned.
After the Oryenguk infiltration quest your Troops will attack at double strength (for 20 turns). This will allow you to conquer either Oryenguk or Marbia. Taking any of them increases your Troops cap by 20 which will allow you to overcome Marbia/Oryenguk. After that, the map is designed so that you can always find an enemy fiefdom with fewer Troops than yours.

I might need to go back to an earlier save. I tried to infiltrate Marbia and now when I try to infiltrate Oryenquk I get a message that I can only do one activity per turn, even though I have advanced through about 20 turns. I'll go back to a save where I did not infiltrate anyone yet and try Oryenquk first.

I liked most of it. Though kind of trash game design that most of the game allows you to choose who to fuck, but then you are forced into the incest route at the end of the game. And don't give me the " You can change it to step-mode". You still know what's going on. Why is everyone that makes a VN a mongoloid who wants to fuck their relatives?
