So, what has actually changed? I last looked at 0.15, and I've already seen that there's some neat new UI elements.

We manually checked and the version is 0.1.8, also this zip come straight off patreon
Wait: So the game internal says it: 0.17, but it's 0.18, but the free version on patreon is marked as 0.16?
If it's directly from Patreon, wouldn't it be a patron version? Which I don't think it is, as there's still two races you can't pick.

I'm sorry but I have no clue what you're talking about, on the main screen it clearly says 0.1.8
And I just installed the game and mine says:
Have those who are insisting that it's 0.1.8 actually checked the version downloadable from the OP links on F95? The archive is labeled as 018, and the .exe is dated 6/9/2019 but when you run the program it says 017.

You downloaded from Nopy and I had downloaded from Mega. But the archives appear to be identical, so I don't think that is a problem. What I just now did is go to /users/{name}/AppData/LocalLow and remove the game's folder (LeopoldVisette). Then I launched the game. Lo and behold, it now comes up as 018.
So, short answer is that the game fails to remove trash left over from earlier installs, causing a corrupted runtime environment.

True, but the next time that someone reports a real problem don't be so quick to dismiss their concerns. Just because you can't replicate a problem or know how to fix it doesn't mean that a problem doesn't exist.
Also, even after removing the old folder as I described in post #133 there is still a problem with the program. When you first go into the game it shows 018 on the main menu screen. Click the New Game button to go to character creation, then click the back button to go back to the main menu screen. The version displayed now shows 017 instead of 018.
And the version available from the OP links does NOT allow you to create a character using one of the two patron-restricted races. I'm guessing that either the archive is missing a file or there's a code that Knight-level patrons are supposed to put somewhere.

This isn't helpful at all and painful to read. What does not work in detail? The two problems i discovered is that the dog doesn't heal at the inn when you sleep there for 10 gold (dev knows about that) and the music can't catch up anymore if you move between areas too quickly.
