Reading here and there, I don't know if this was already answered but I'm gonna anyway: how do you even test this one?
Like, I know there's probably the default environments and atom/person like in the 1.x version, but if you want to try anything else? Any other character? I assume you can't since it's just a "Tech demo" sort of, and not the full fledged release.

Dont think so, you get the environment they give in the tech demo and the weird looking models and you can move them around but I think thats about it...

Sounds like we will get the new addon system with the next 2.x alpha :)

Uhmmm, very good news. Load times are really a nightmare right now, and I can guess that this improvement will be accompained by a much better optimization of the platform...

Edit: Having the Oculus crap open and running when launching it fixes this.

i was a vam 1 supporter. stopped supporting because honestly i got bored of it. the environmental demo looks pretty cool, but the female model doesn't look any better than what's already available in vam1 with mods. i could be wrong of course. i hope this comes out good and content creators come back because it still looks promising.

here is an oddity i noticed, with DLSS on FPS takes a huge hit. i go from 500+ FPS to around 350 FPS @ 3440x1440, but most of the objects look better with DLSS enabled. like the coiled phone cable in the office, for example. without DLSS it looks 2 dimensional.

i have a 13900k CPU and RTX 3090 GPU, btw

You are most likely seeing the limits of what dlss ai cores can process. While your 3d scene complexity is tiny, the 2d image processed it looked at as if it were any complex rendered game at 60fps. As for why it looks better, just a preference of AA used?

Can you load scenes from first VAM? - or it's just demo with own scenes?

Scenes from VAM 1.x will likely not be compatible with VAM 2.x out of the box.
I don't think it can. The pose system is completely different and VAM 2 doesn't use Genesis2. Plus the whole issue about addons that won't be the same.

So when are we going to get a simple version of this - alpha - that supports a bare minimum interactive experience for teledildonics? Even a bare-bones version would be better than nothing to see what the future will be like!

Not sure teledildonics will be native? For someone to make a 3rd party plugin, there must be a framework for that...

I'm I the only one tired as fuck of waiting for this? It was announced years ago and nothing till now.

It took him a lot of time to release the first version, years without anybody knowing about his project. So I think it's normal. Personally I do as if it will never be released, 1.X is good enough for me and I have characters that I really like there and because it can't be ported to 2.X I'm not in a hurry. Actually I wished they kept working on 1.X because there are some annoying bug left. Or if they could release the source code that would be awesome.

I feel kind lazy of lazy to install this thing being an alpha with probably almost zero stuff and knowing how hard it was to start with VAM 1...

But I'll give it a try I guess...

Are you infested with a coinminer and some trojans or wtf is going on with your PC?
I have a 2080 as well, 5800X, 16GB RAM, and depending on the scene complexity, I have 60-144FPS in VAM 1. (I have a 144Hz monitor)

In this VAM 2, I uncapped this shit, and I had 200+ FPS easily.
How the everliving fuck are you getting 45FPS? Do you have a shit CPU or you just bullshitting? :WaitWhat:
VAM is meant for VR (otherwise it would be called desktop mate or something) and that eats up your pc, if you are not using it on VR it's ridiculous calling other people bullshiting when you are not even playing the real thing.

Breast simulation never done. The chest behaves like a balloon, when in contact with objects, it is repelled like a balloon, instead of pushing inward
I was hoping to see progress in physics, but apparently it will have to wait much later. sorry for my bad english
