I'm just now starting to figure things out with Daz3d. I still have a LOT of learning to do but I'm kind of happy with my first render. While it's not the best artwork ever, it surpassed my expectations. I need to figure out how to add content to my Daz3d Studio... I thought I had it figured out, but I couldn't find the products in the studio itself after I added them to My Library. Oh well, I'll figure it out!

Please, go easy on me guys! Constructive criticism is always welcomed.

How to install:

Mostly all the assets from are compatibile with
Assets from renderosity or renderotica or any others stores usually are not but you can make them if you want with Content Pakcage Assist or you can extract and copy the files manually.. I'm up for the Content Package Assist.

I'm not gonna give you feedback for the render.. you know why.. the ideea it's good.. what I'm gonna suggest you is to watch some tutorials.. you can find a few on our site or youtube.

I really don't see how that's possible man. I have no clue how those rocks in the foreground got there, I didn't add them. They just kind of popped up during rendering.
This is post-rendering.

Meh.. don't be that hard with yourself mate.. it looks good for a 1st one.. I've seen worse renders from "experienced" users and still continue to make the same mistakes over and over again after feedback but oh well.. we are not here to judge.. only to learn.
You just need lots of patience and practice..

Try to learn the basics on this laptop and later you can decide if you want to buy a better pc or not or you want to continue on this.. , let's call it hobby for now.
How to pose/place a figure, how to add a light or two, how to morph a figure..
It's a lot to learn in DAZ.. you can't learn it in a few hours/days.. practice, learn, practice, learn, practice, learn..

Ahh thanks bro. If those are your renders in your signature, you are leaps and bounds ahead of me. I'm still trying to figure out lighting, environments, skin textures etc. I'm going to click those links you provided as well, I could really use a few tutorials. I didn't read up on any of it... just sorta jumped head first into the deep end, as is usually the case for me.

Only the one on the right.. the animation it's made by Super Alex for his game.

I'm not far from you.. I have only 2 months in DAZ

Yeah well.. that was my problem too.. jumped into daz but didn't knew anything about it.. what's a pose.. what's a shader.. light.. texture.. etc.. everything was in Chinese for me and I live in Europe.

You're only 2 months in and your render looks like that? Wow! Looks like I have some work to do. Thanks for the motivation, my friend! I'm determined to get better. I've been wondering how on earth people created 3DCG for some time and I finally found out how on this site so I dove right in. It's been challenging but where there's a challenge, there's a chance for educating myself.

Don't worry pal, your first renders usually mean nothing more than the fact you found where to click to render something :D

As an example, here's one of my very first renders, back in April:

And here's an example of what can be done after only a few months (and an upgraded computer):

The main advice I could give you is to have fun for now and not to fret the quality of your renders, especially if you're using a laptop. I'd also recommend that, once you have the necessary computing power, you try making compositions as complex as possible. I firmly believe it's the needs make the artisan, so once the bases are laid down, shoot for the stars :)
