I wish less of this game's resources went to these damn highschool memories
I feel like the linear progression of the events clashes somewhat with the sandbox nature of the game.
Both would be fine in a vacuum, they're just at odds with each other.

At this point not sure if that's meant to be a joke or a prediction. Real bummer, I had such high hopes for this game after the first time I played it, but seems the dev is more interested in adding flies on the wall than fixing the horribly unbalanced grind and adding content that's actually accessible without getting a game over because you didn't skip past all the lewd stuff just to eat a pigeon every day until the timer ran out.
This game is gorgeous. Super beautiful. It's got a stunning art style, and the theming is well executed. It's got everything going for it besides what feels like no motivation for the character to follow any story path. I don't mind sandboxes, I almost prefer them. But this game needs more story elements in it. I actually really like the writing. The prologue and the high school memories were pleasant to read. I'm somewhat invested in this character from Vespers past that at the moment seems to have no impact on the present.
From what I can gather, the story is somewhat buried in the different paths you might take to feed/pay for yourself. Unfortunately, I've got little interest in prostitution. Trying to live "cleanly" doesn't particularly trigger much of anything storywise. It turns the game mostly into a grindfest that apparently ends in a gameover once the time runs out?
I won't just write this game off as it's in Early Alpha. It really is a beautiful game, but it's miles away from being an experience catered to my persuasion. From what I've played, I enjoyed. I hope the devs feel compelled to keep creating this, because it truly has a lot of potential. I love the setting, and vampire themes are right up my alley.
P.s. I don't think you need to worry about "competitiveness" on steam. I believe it costs $100 to put a product on steam, but all you're doing is opening another revenue source. Just make it clear that it's in Early Alpha, and that it's far from finished.

I like this game, but we have to wait for the good updates, anyone know another game similar to this? (gameplay and options/routes)
my windows defender is freaking killing cant download this but safe to say that i read the dev comment in the previous posts and it is safe but how to bypass the defender do i off the windows defender and dl it or does anyone know how to do it

Vesper as a character is fun to read and her design is great, I admit her basic office attire with vest and tie does something for me. And I must add that I would have been perfectly happy if the game had been entirely a moody visual novel like the prologue.
So far the game is a neat sandbox, though of course as this game is still in development you run into a dozen different construction sites where the game either outright tells you that features are missing or you run headfirst into a wall.
For example my own first run was cut short after 8 days, as Vesper could not progress at the strip club, there was not enough money to buy a blood bag and she went insane from hunger. By contrast the prostitution path and the thief path are more fleshed out and you can actually make it through the game like that. Personally, I would have liked if the journalist and the bartender jobs gave more money, for me it felt always as if all the money Vesper made with these jobs was immediately expended by buying blood bags from the witch.
So, my primary point of contention would be the stat system. For me it felt as if it could use a few more tweaks and explanations. Some stat increases could be bigger if you specifically train them, for example lust increase by masturbation, or the system could be a bit more granular with giving you some bonuses when you hit some milestones. I include the money grind with the two available starting jobs for that too. Another problem would be, that perhaps a explanation for some stats, like charisma or exhibitionism would be useful. What are they good for? Where do you need them? Is exhibitionism really only used for one "quest line"?
And a last thought as a shot in the dark: Is Kat the stripper friend in truth Jules from the high school memories? She immediately recognized Vesper, has a similarly slim build and the side story hints incessantly that something bad would happen to Jules if the father ever found out that they are a couple.
