In the bottom of the merchant ship, after all the silly clicky-stealth scenes, I open a door and there are two guys there. The combat interface looks like it tries to open for a 1/0th of a second, then they auto-kill me without any opportunity for player input.

Any ideas?

In the first part, I trained fencing, I defeated all monsters. Now I don't even have a gun in my backpack, and it is magic to kill the bear with the feeling of two guests on the ship. The only plus that works in battle is escape.
