I really liked this one to start with. The art wasn't much to write home about, but the story was solid. Recently though it has just been frustrating with no real choices, and a neverending snowball of incredibly stupid decisions that are not entertaining and mostly just make me wonder why the MC isn't dead yet.

I hate fake branching.
I wouldn't call it fake branching, like from memory it only ever used basic branching for fetishes. (like bestiality with that one character). Or methods to use against certain characters, one being more cruel than the other. As for ending... well I would suspect there will at least be two, one for the less cruel one for the more cruel.

There are only a few major dynamic scenarios,takamura sheila asuka Elizabeth,over.
and, don't forget that some scenes should have been completed in the last version. like takamura.
and,It paves the way for the follow-up of some characters.
one year,guys.

It CAN be complex in terms of the number of things you have to keep track of for the story to make sense, so it can be something completely insignificant like a character just mentioning or wearing something different, in which case yes, just a variable is all that's needed, or it can be indeed, something quite complex like completely different branches of story that can have several repercussions depending on which and how many choices are involved.
During normal game development, all of that stuff (paths, variables, etc.) is mapped out BEFORE you start coding.

But how many of these dev's actually know about the development process before they begin?
