A render literally means “cause to be or become; make.”

even though it’s a screenshot, the scene still has to be made. Its the same way as DAZ the only difference is, it’s not shit like DAZ where you have to render (aka save) the picture.

. But I'm not omniscient, so I might be wrong about that. But at the end it's completely irrelevant. With Honey Select it's just screenshoting. Don't get me wrong. You can made good games with HS. Here, however, one cannot see that the dev has put a lot of effort into it and that's why I'm a little bit amused when seeing he's using "rendering" to making excuses for repeatedly delaying his own promises. But he also says he had a burn out and that I've to give him. Mental health is important and since I can't verify his statement, I'll just believe him and hope that he has made a full recovery. I'm one of those stupid people who believe in the good in people, so I don't think he lied.

That was most of your post lol besides like one sentence. Also have u tried using HS? It’s an old program and it can take a while to do one scene with lighting posing etc lol

oh when it comes to quality, i always prefer waiting...but in cases like Irphaeus's? Waiting can also mean "more milking in the meantime"

Well, posing a scene is one thing. But it's the easiest way with HS compared to real graphic designing programs. Honey Select is like a VAZ-2101 and DAZ/Blender/etc. is more of a Bentley Continental.

I've never said this. You all should read what I've written not what you wants to read to have a prejudice confirmed. No one said HS set scenes by itself. But it's pretty easy compared to other programs and if you look on Waifu Academy you can see that Irphaeus didn't put much effort to get more out of it. There are VN's made with HS where you can see in every scene and every frame how much the dev worked. In Waifu Academy the MC fucks with his sessiled school bag over his shoulder.

This guy is trolling his cows. One should give him the Rick Astley-Award in Platinum and a purpure riband. If it's done it's done. He's only trying to get more time. After the poll he will tell his victims his homeplace is burnt down and all his files are lost or a virus destroyed his work.

The story of Waifu Academy is nice and I can laugh about some jokes in it. That's why I'm playing this. But the dev on the other hand... Well, he's not worth to get salty and whine about like some people do.

I know we can be hard on this Dev but it is born out of frustration we know he has a good game but his milking and work ethic are causing this .There are some amazing creators games like Pale Carnations ,Being a Dik plus many more while we wait for the next update (summer 2024) can I recommend
Ithaca Project this game is made with enjoyment and not your normal vanilla game this Dev defiantly needs supporting

Maybe you can apply your own advice first. The announcement said Irph is going to hire someone to do what you say is lacking right now. So, what are you complaining about?

I don’t know, I don’t walk in Irfaeus’s shoes, I’m not Irfaeus, I don’t know why he works so slowly. but for me, a simple player who plays free games, it has not ceased to discuss the personal habits of the authors regarding how much time it takes them to do hard work for which I will not pay a penny. 1. The twist is: if only those paying are allowed to criticize it, then...nobody is - nobody "paid for" anything, that is the very premise of "donations" - charity. Nobody "buys" anything, so nobody "is owed" anything. There is a reason developers providing refunds on Patreon not only erase hefty chunks of negativity, but sometimes even gain a credit of trust should they get back to work.

2. Whilst I can buy things like "I got COVID" or even "my house burned down", the tipping point for this particular developer was the "car accident". Irphaeus lied [about reasons for yet another delay] and was promptly exposed. Ever since, people have found it difficult to believe anything coming out of that mouth regardless of actual validity. Hence my earlier mention of Shepherd & Wolf. "Slow work" itself has nothing to do with this, WA is hardly the only game suffering from slow/erratic development process.

3. These "monthly expenses" you speak of...well: firstly, the money is provided in good faith that it would fund game development, not improve personal wellbeing of whoever is working on it, and thus, secondly, if Patreon is your lifeline, then frankly "rape does not even BEGIN to describe how fucked you are". Find a job that DOES pay enough to support you, put the game on hold, get back to it when you can afford it. Instead, Irph started working on another game in parallel.


Bottom line is, the game itself is actually fine thus far - granted, not the best out there (sorry, storytelling), but [in my experience, at least] FAR from worst -, I enjoyed playing through whatever is available, but the person behind it is a procrastinator and a confirmed liar. The developer has proven to misplace trust, so the only metric left is development of further content-to-be-added. And that process is horrendously slow. Probably why people are so focused on it - there is literally nothing else to judge/evaluate.


P.S. there is no such thing as "rights", only "privileges".
