It say a previous quest requirements. And you need to play as male to get a previous quest.

When i start the game there is no mention of the new character anywhere, im pretty sure i have the right version.

I'm not 100% certain but I believe that the Lavender content doesn't show up until after the Quidditch team event.
Maybe in a possible future update there could be more homosexual relations with other characters like being able to romance Hermoine as female, and also having to romance the professors.

You kiss her during events. Unless you mean as a normal chat option like with Ginny or Luna?
You can't kiss her while talk as a male too. She don't want to show relationship with mc to the public. But there is a plenty sexual and romantic scenes with her as a girl.

I'm thinking about playing the game again. What qualities do you consider to give the most interesting possibilities, which can be taken?

The time of the game is limited so far, but it results from these missions related to the main story. But I read that the creators plan to give the opportunity to play without a time limit when the main plot is finished.

IMO most important are charm and robe(15), for good relations. And wand(15) for some of good learning.
Courage and intelligence are second. Not important is owl and books (until now). Save money for the repay end of november!
Edit: I have to correct myself: good relations you get quite easily with good robe and showering (look 10) and talking a lot to big groups.
Fast learning is the bottleneck. In quests you need a lot of hight values, also for the exams on 1st of Oct.
So charisma 10 should be sufficient. Means, make courage and intelligence 12 and 11.

Quick eye is trained by going out into the corridor at night (try it every night! Until you have enough stealth).
Sometimes you get cought by filch - quick eye increases.
The point of doing that is to train your stealth after a while.
High stealth you need to hide from filch, and to search for the monster at night. And for some quests later.
Stealth you also get in the detention room event sometimes.

For optimal starting stats, I do some Excel calculations.
Aim is a balance with all subjects (Fly, DADA…). Everywhere enough, nowhere too much. No explicit weakness if possible. Need some more testing with it ...

Like this we are in most subjects above the minimal requirement with >20 (>30). Small weaknesses are Fly and DADA.
Fly you need only once early (first date with Ginny), and there it is not really necessary. Getting into the Q. team is nice for ego, but not game-important afaik.
DADA of 20 is only important later in the game, to start the adventure with astoria.
Trans on the other hand is necessary quite early - at the first date with Hermione.
When your Trans is >10, then you are able to save 3 gal, because the cheap meal will do it for a successful date with Hermione (saving every penny until end of Nov. is important!).
Potions 15 you need shortly after this (seaching panties). With high Courage you can stand against Snape (+1 Courage).
For Charisma, of course it would be most helpful to have it on a max level. Relations is half of the game and are needed for Quests. But practically I found out I need Courage to be 12 otherwise DADA (and fly) will not come up enough in time. And also Intelligence needs a high value, because it influences 3 subjects (and Hermione likes it).
That means, for Charisma remains a 10, which should be just sufficient. Ok, sometimes you get only one point per person in group talks, but what's the use of having the relevant relations on max (or close to max) already after 3 or 4 weeks. You have plenty of time to build them up.
