I'm pretty sure I made a mini guide on getting started in the game and it goes up to like level 5 or so. Just search through my comments for that, it should help some.

When loading your save I noticed the ghost girl is still guarding Melisa's tower. Have you talked to Melisa yet ?

Also, the candle in your room is burning, so there's a skill ready for learning.
And you have seeds in your inventory, but nothing in your garden. I suggest you plant them and water your garden.
