Older games I have played were a lot like this - I was thinking of TL95 and even more of CRC.
The "nothing happening" of which you speak is pretty much what these older games are all about - a relationship with a fictional character.

Ageha and Iroha, I guess? Their reactions are so silly sometimes.
There are several stories that start out fun but then get a bit twisted (probably because the game was originally going to be darker in its theme, but the creators toned it down a bit).

Wow. I must say, I'm impressed with Terushima's route (Not the chubby one, but the slim one. Although both are good. Terushima is the best girl anyway). It's an emotional roller coaster that ends with satisfying ending. So sad that the game doesn't offer route for other interesting heroines. It feels like it's been an ambitious project that got axed in the middle of its production because budget issues. I want to know more about the masked girl and the hoodie girl. But in general, almost every characters in this game has their own quirks which is interesting to be explored.
The translation quality needs to be improved in terms of technicality (many typos and formatting issues), but I'm still able to enjoy the ride. Also the game display so much word play in Japanese (like in their surnames or the name of location), that will lose its comedic aspect if it got translated. But I think the translator put a decent amount of effort to explain where the jokes are, so it needs to be apreciated.
This game is the proof that the game doesn't need to offer pretty 3D render, animated, voiced, good OST, or overly-complicated plot to be fun and interesting to play/read. Many western VN author should learn much from this game design.

I'm glad you enjoyed it (sorry for the technical and grammatical errors; English isn't my native language).
This VN certainly had budget issues, given that they were originally going to hire voice actors (there are flags and system images to control voice volume in the game that are disabled) and more heroines with short routes, such as the school nurse, Bisuko, Yagasuri, Matsuba, and a delinquent-style girl, later replaced by Lorina.
On the other hand, the developers also mentioned the possibility of including questionable tags for this type of genre, such as humiliation, BDSM and NTR... so I'm not sure if it was for better or worse.

Holy shit, I change my mind then, lol! I'd rather see this game in its current unfinished state than see NTR or BDSM content added to it. I could see the potential for a power dynamic shift in Ageha and Kouchou’s routes which would fit the humiliation theme, but meh, the devs made the right choice by keeping it vanilla. It's more memorable (in a positive way) like this.

"Even google" lol. They are actually not that good at accurate detecting stuff.
I couldn't find any real thread in my testing. And all those detections don't say much.

I think those two endings depend on the level of likeability you have with Matsuba and certain responses you have toward Dobugawa (whether she sees her biological parents or not, for example). From there, they either reconcile, start over, or break up.
