"Where is Mickey Mouse?"

"What do you mean? Just because the game is set in Disneyland does not mean it has to feature Mickey Mouse! Entitled much?"
Well, your facetious response* is also accurate - you can have a game set in Disneyland without featuring Mickey Mouse quite easily. Avoiding the silly "comparison" though, the setting here may be Jamaica, but the characters featured are from (presumably) the US, and they are the focus. Those getting involved are those the MC already knew before the events of the game, not (for instance) hotel staff or random locals.

*I'll give you the benefit of the doubt though, as I don't know which side you are commenting for or against there.

Like I said, I prefer intimate NTR (1-on-1) instead of rampant slutfests that most NTR games devolve into, but you also can't place the story in JAMAICA and not have interracial content planned whatsoever.

Chekov's Gun applies here; don't show the audience a gun if you don't intend to fire it.

Of course you can, all it is is a setting. I don't know whether interracial content is planned or not, but just setting the game in Jamaica doesn't make it a requirement, and it's silly to think that it does. As I said earlier, it makes it really easy to include, but by no stretch it is a requirement. It's literally just some people on holiday, and the game focuses on those people, that's where the Jamaica bit comes in - it's not a Chekhov's gun situation at all :ROFLMAO: (and sidenote: some people put far too much weight into the Checkhov's gun principle. It's not something that everyone knows, or that every writer subscribes to. Indeed, some writers will literally put the "gun on the wall" and not have it fired, just to play with the heads of people watching and waiting for it).

To change this about a bit though, let's say the destination wedding was in Scotland. Apart from reduced opportunities because it's not going to be bikini weather all all the time, would the setting mean that at some point Merry has to get fucked by a Scotsman? Or would it be enough for her to get fucked by the best man who's going behind his best mate's back (or being allowed to share, depending on your path)? That's basically the same thing. Dev could have chosen any location in the world for the wedding. Choosing Jamaica doesn't have to be because the locals are black and she wants IR content, it could just be that the dev loves Jamaica, or it could have been a random selection.

Never said it's a requirement, just that the choice of location usually has a larger meaning.

And the choice of venue is not mentioned often, which could indicate the dev doesn't hold it as something significant either - but it would be kinda silly not to have it included on the NTS path at some point given the destination in the end.

That's the same as saying it's a requirement.

Ive played this multiple times and can honestly say if I even knew this game took place in Jamaica I never even clocked it as important enough to remember yet alone bust out a census and check background characters ethnicity.

No judgement to those who really get into every aspect of these games but I think to the average person this game takes place at an island resort and thats it.

Im so used to games taking place in a city where a merchant village is connected to a run down inner city ghetto then a beautiful beach followed by a middle class neighborhood in the suburbs. If developers decided to name those cities in game after real life cities I dont think it would be anymore or less immersion breaking than the typical odd lalaland names they usually choose.

So in my opinion jamaica was probably chosen because of its name recognition not because of its real life population.

But I will admit in your favor that whenever there is a video of a white jamaican talking with his accent the comment section is always filled with people calling the man racist and calling for his head. I told my nephew there are white jamaicans with the jamaican accent and it blew his 13 year old mind. Anyone older than that who thinks there are only black people there need to travel more. But that is proof of how well known jamaica is for having a primarily black population. So I dont agree that we should expect bbc in this game because of the setting but I understand why some of you do.

If we’re going to be technical and pedantic, then LL could easily scrap any IR content and she’d still abide by my reasoning - because I only said it needed to be in the plans, not necessarily implemented.

I still stand by it, btw. Of every possible resort in the world, LL chose Jamaica - what about Fiji? Or Maldives? Why choose a country we all know for the Rhastafarian culture, instead of locations dedicated to the resort industry?

I might be reading too much into her choice of venue, but I am only reasong what she wrote…

This game is a kinetic game !!! no choice to make
There are choices to make at various points in the game, it's not kinetic.

That's just ridiculous. You're wrong in your reasoning and flailing for ways to make it seem you're right - "dev could just not include IR content and we'd never know if she planned to include it or not, but I would be right because it only needed to be planned, not implemented" :ROFLMAO:

And Jamaica is a well-known island resort as well, just like the other examples you provided. It's perfectly reasonable to select it for a destination wedding - just Google "destination wedding Jamaica" to see the mass of different locations and packages available, and then tell me Jamaica isn't dedicated to the resort industry. It's only one of their biggest employment sectors, after all:
The tourism industry earns over 50 per cent of the country's total foreign exchange earnings and provides about one-fourth of all jobs in Jamaica.

Because you got technical, so did I. The words you quoted said she has to be planning IR content on the NTS path, just like Stay Online had Marcus' friend be black out of nowhere; it is nowhere near unreasonable to presume we will be seeing a black lover for Mary on the NTS route, especially considering the setting is Jamaica.

You're the one arguing the location was chosen completely randomly - which could be true, but does not counter my argument in any way whatsoever.

Setting the game in Jamaica and NOT having interracial content would be certainly one of the more confusing choices ever made.

I suggested it could be a random location choice purely because there's no indication that it was deliberate. I only did so though, because you insisted that setting the game in Jamaica meant it had to include interracial content. And I've covered clearly enough why it wouldn't be a confusing choice in the least if there was no interracial content. It looks like you're trying to back away from your assertions by deflecting now and suggesting that I was responding to something different to what I was actually responding to, presumably because you know it's a silly argument.

This is starting to get off topic though, so I won't continue to point out here why it's a silly argument (I've said all the main reasons anyway). I'm more than happy to continue in private message though, as per forum rules, if you have more straws you want to clutch at.

Why this conversation is even taking place ? in Jamaica there are literal places which is off limits to Locals only foreigners with money can access them so a local not being added there is perfectly logically consistent with the ground reality
