I am in full agreement that someone with average or even below-average looks can be an extraordinary, endearing, and memorable character; indeed, this has been a fundamental premise for many of history’s greatest writers

Graphics are still going to be the main barrier to entry (or "selling" point) of an AVN. You can't judge the quality of the writing from screenshots or even a description so you likely try the better looking AVNs first. I'm not convinced word of mouth from communities like this do a good enough job in helping separate the wheat from the chaff in terms of actual quality.

That's not to say personalities aren't memorable or important, they certainly are, and separate the A/B tier from the S tier. But for me they first gotta pass that threshold.

Unless it's been changed or I'm completely mis-remembering, the intro starts with a flash forward with the MC literally sitting in a cuck chair watching his girl get fucked and he's like "How did we get here...?"

Nothing is wrong with it. Hey, you do you, but cucking goes against everything I enjoy and it doesn't appeal to me in the slightest. This game feels like it's going to be centered around cucking (with the MC enjoying it to be fair).

I prefer both parties to be involved in the sharing, not just sitting there watching my wife get fucked by someone else, especially when feelings of 'angst' are going to be prominent. Just imo though.

Ah I see, you are looking for swinging games or harem with sharing like Shadow of Ambition. We'll see! The intro makes me thing otherwise, but who knows! It could be more wholesome than I'm expecting. Also, I think the title did indeed turn me off almost immediately, maybe not the greatest move by the dev but it's their game. I'll play the newest update sometime this week, maybe the MC isn't quite as passive as he seemed at first.

Personally, I'm okay with the MC being passive as long as he is reserved in his cuck tendencies, has healthy amount of jealousy and the FMC goes along with that only to fulfill his fantasy, not hers. When you have a passive MMC and the FMC that just craves other dicks, the story inevitably feels cuckold. Thankfully, in this game, the FMC is definitely not a slut, e.g. if you ask her to kiss the other or to wear a too revealing dress she will express surprise and if you don't she will say that thinks the same and also not ready for that. So it doesn't feel like she only needs approval to start acting slutty.

Not really a fan of passive MCs who prefer to just watch, as a voyeur, and much rather that he and FMC are equally active in pursuing their combined desires. That each other's pleasure is as important as their own, in any situation, even if it does mean that one or the other does "sit it out" at some point due to circumstance, but that they would always relish it together somehow. Either during or after. But if together, then they should both be active in decisions and action, neither one passively.
