Did we have any date to 1.0 release or still nothing?
Pfff...

I'm sorry, it's obvious that you don't check this thread very often so it's not your fault so...

Let's see, what we have now is a release date for v0.7 that is set (for now) to the last week of November.

This is also the first time devs gave any sort of release date, and who knows probably also the last one, so don't bother to ask about v1.0 for some time.

That sounds like they're on track for an early December release (assuming play testing is incorporated in this polish percentage).

But it's a little concerning that the total debug count just keeps rising. Early October there were 12 units left to go. Since then they've completed 7 units but added 5 more. So after a month the debug count has only gone down from 12 remaining to 10 remaining.
wow, I am in danger of losing my abiding faith in the release date /s

if Patreopiggies don't stop giving blank check votes for two years per girl for flat nags and old hags, we're literally never gonna get an ending
this game better come out pristine. not a single grammar, spelling, or bug mistake.
lol.

lmao, even.

I prefer small updates every few months. if after 2 years they just release 1 update that ends the story i will be very disappointed. :,)

Edit: Farm girl is my favourite. :D

Hmmm. I suppose i could make a calculated estimate.
First lets assume that the Nuts manages to return to the productivity of 0.5 and 0.6. Both were decently large updates of high quality. They spent apx. 7 and 10 months making those.
Then lets imagine that subsequent updates will be 9 months on average.
How many updates are left then? Well, i would say one for each side LI that have been introduced already (Anne, Maple, Holly, Gretta, Simone).
Then 2 or 3 updates to complete the main story and the LI's that are tied into it (Serena, Madeliene, New LI???).
And then maybe 1 update focused on bonus content for all existing characters.

Pretty sure this puts us in the early 2030's.
Then again, i have a hard time imagining not meeting new LI's in any of the locations we have eyt to visit. Like, we have only seen about half of Cin Town, Old Capitol and Outskirts.
New Capitol, FloaTown, BowlTown, etc., remains to be seen.
The pragmatist in me thinks that they will sacrifice some of the secondary towns and try to limit the number of new LI's to 2-3.

There is at least the potential for this to last another decade if they are going to flesh out the world map fully. And this is the case even if they get back up to speed. It all depends on the number of backers really. I hope they will run a poll regarding the long term plans for WAL!. It currently isn't sustainable.

I would actually be OK with WAL being a long term project with only one update per year, as long as the main story gets completed. Add the other girls in in such a way that their stories work as "bonus content" and don't affect finishing the main story. It's frustrating, because they did tease a much larger and more complex story where Lassie can gain other powers. But whatever, let it just be "he can see ghosts bc he fucked a hot one eyed elf chick, move along". As long as we actually get an ending to the story I guess I'm fine with it, other things can be added in later. And then the Nuts can move along exploring other regions and adding new LI's to the story as we go from there. This IMO would be a much better long term plan than giving us another chapter of the main story but then going back to adding random girls based on votes for the next 4-5 years, then another main story chapter, then other girls.

I've said it before but a "hub and spokes" level design would have made WAY more sense for this game all along. What does this mean? It would be: main story chapter 1 - after this you've reached "Hub 1". From this point "spokes" diverge that can be completed optionally at will - let's say Myrtle as an example, or add in a route for Maple which opens at this point. Also available to begin would be main story chapter 2, after which you are at "Hub 2". From here you can still pursue routes for earlier girls if you want, but it also opens up the "spokes" for Rose and Gomira and their routes. Next, main story chapter 3, followed by opening up "spokes" for even more girls. The key thing is the "spoke" routes can be completed in any order, but the "main story" axis has to be completed to reach the next "hub". If you don't like any of the girls on offer at a given "hub", you can simply ignore them all and proceed immediately with the next chapter of the main story. Or you can rush through the whole main story before exploring ANY of the spokes, or you can be a completionist and go through every route before moving on with each main story chapter.

As for the patreon voting framework, you could allow patrons to vote for which spoke gets completed first among a short list. Maybe have a list of 5 girls, but say "ok, on this hub there will be three girls". After the voting has ranked them, the two that ranked lowest get pushed off to the future to be released after the next hub. After all routes for the three winners are completed (in ranked order), there would be no vote - the next update would be locked in as a main story chapter to get us to the next hub. This would also allow them to pipeline different parts of the project at different speeds which I know is helpful to artists and creatives. They would be able to have the main story chapter already plotted out and more or less ready for art and posing by the time they finished making the last route of the previous hub.

Then again, i have a hard time imagining not meeting new LI's in any of the locations we have eyt to visit. Like, we have only seen about half of Cin Town, Old Capitol and Outskirts.

Don't forget that if the Nuts give up, other artists and coders exist and bootlegged mods are possible. Ultimately players could finish the story themselves - or use WAL's core framework as a jumping-off point to add on their own stories to flesh out the world! This world does not have to die as long as the fans love it :giggle:

Who knows wat any of this shit means anyway, but the percentages are completely useless if the maximums keep on incrementing (as they have for the entire product's lifecycle). That's why Finuee's table is less misleading than this percentage.
Thanks for appreciating the table! What you said is exactly why I started doing it, and why I very intentionally did not include percentages. I felt (and still feel) the number of tasks left is the only metric that is worth comparing.

Also, updated table.

The game is not abandoned. To label it as such is factually incorrect: I'm working on it right now (well, I was until a few minutes ago when someone on our server said it's been tagged as abandoned here). We will release the 0.7 update when it's ready and bug-free. Until then (back to work).
Hey I love the game so far, so excited to see the game isn't abandoned

Looking forward to seeing more artwork, hopefully soon

It remains abandoned, it seems.

0,76 tasks were completed. I'm at my peak today. It's time to rest, it's too much for me, exhausting

Oh no. 23 tasks left (probably more coming), 23 days left in november. And if they need a week to do the final release preparations as usual, then they won't make the deadline. Hope they will just leave a few minor bugs and tasks alone and then fix them later.
Finally announcing a release date after a 2 year update cycle and then not meeting it is rather tragic.
