They have announced that the game will be released in the last week of November, but I bet that they will extend the premiere as much as possible, until the very end, i.e. until November 30, or even the update will take place on the night from November thirtieth to December first, a few minutes before midnight.
I heard there was a complaint that november does not have 31 days

Oh GOD why would you want to replace this game's gorgeous art with another RPGmaker clone? Literally the plague on adult VN's, everyone and their mom thinks they can shit out a porn game with that tool and they all look the same.

Yeah the devs for WAL have their flaws but not including shit like that is a design choice I'll be forever thankful for.
Yeah it's so eyerolling when a dev will advertise 10 hours of gameplay in an update and 8 of them turn out to be clicking through the same few screens of a point and click "minigame" to farm up enough cash or "stamina" or "magic points" or whatever to see the next scene. That's not really gameplay, it's padding.
I mean everything that makes a porn VN game something more than just a flood of text between lewd scenes. By 'mechanics' I mean exactly this. A fishing mini-game, a doll-dressing mini-game, an exploration or a fighting mode, multiple plot lines - these are mechanics. You playing a game by using mechanics, otherwise it's just a VN. So iirc WaL is a straight-forward VN with no gameplay. It would be nice to have something to do in a game but it takes an actual game design.
Minigames that are actually minigames and demand a little thought or skill would be fine.
Okay, so, let me get this straight. In the last two updates (granted they were only a second degree update, not like a 0.7 or anything), the only things that have changed were... making a couple scenes less nonconsensual? Feels like the devs could've just kept those in the WIP version and rolled those changes out in the next major update.
They didn't have a choice, it was take out the incest shit or get booted off patreon. No great loss IMO
When starting from scratch, the game feels like it's going to be a sandbox, roam-around-the-map-looking-for-the-next-minor-event style game, however it does feel like it's become more compartmentalised, particularly with how the latest updates are rolled out: Click on that section of the map, talk to that characters, and then an entire episode will roll out before you.

So in that sense, the original mechanics have been dumbed down, resulting in a mostly VN interface, with a fuck load of (well conceived) reading.

My expectation is that Episode 7 will follow that new approach: A new section on the map will be open, we'll click on it, and be whisked away into the realm of some lustful orc.

It'll probably run for about 4 or so hours of reading time, and then it will all be over, and the patrons will run screaming continue to pay out for the next few hours of reading, and people here will bemoan the money they never spent, and the time they shouldn't have wasted; they will decry the poor value, and will stick around complaining until the next episode comes out.
Painfully accurate. These large "get it all done in one" updates feel railroady.
Now it makes sense why the game feels less and less fun as it goes on when you guys point that out. The early game was structured in a way that you couldn't possibly do a "Gomira and nobody else" update. The game's still good for its wholesome fun story and art (although the anatomy in the sex scenes feels a bit off when viewed after all this time without a boner). But the gameplay was that secret sauce that made it fun to play.

There's no good solution though. You either progress everyone's story by a small amount each update, which feels more cohesive as a whole, or you compartmentalize and give a lot of story to one character. Either way, it either becomes "not enough progression for two years" or " two years for one fucking orc" and people are unhappy
There is a good solution: abandon the "patrons vote every year or two for Best Girl" system. It may have increased subscription back in the day but now it's just frustrating everyone bc the majority are mad their waifu wasn't chosen. The Nuts should explicitly abandon the pay to vote idea, replace it with "patrons can submit ideas / have their name on an NPC" sort of thing, and go back to designing a clever interactive world where it feels like the main character can pursue any woman he sees.

Seems like progress is being made, but a damn shame a project of this quality slacked off the way it did. I can't complain as a non-paying customer, but shit like this is why a subscription payment system is a very bad idea in the adult gaming industry. Having a system that pays per release would not only be better for the paying customer, but would also cut out so many of this subscription abusing bastards.

I agree one one side, but not having any problem every month because money flows is is nice. Of course they still need to work for it. And obvious as a non-paying customer, who am I to complain...

And if it takes long enough, I get to play the whole game again. Of course I hope it continues, and a new update comes, there already have been lots of good ideas abandoned in the years...

The rarely spoken bright side of these games having unreasonably long dev times, you can replay the whole thing whenever there's an update.

From their latest Patreon report, it looks like it's going to be another 2 weeks but we'll find out next week if that's the case. My guess is that it's getting delayed and they're softening the blow now.

"Before writing this report, I was sure we'd reach our deadline; now, I honestly wish we had one or two more weeks to ensure everything's ready as planned (I'll confirm whether we actually need more time or not in the next week's report)."

Especially this legend one , no one can do that ! You know what is the biggest differ of 2D vs 3D ?

3D is more than easy than 2D . But for 2D which is like this game , which based on 3D design in 2D animation !

You know what , I tell you . I though that the same you did earlier , before I realize the truth and I also try to attempt to write like whatalegend game but impossible which is took more than a day while write coding ! This is just coding script , not even include image and animation.

Why summertime saga update much faster than this game ? You know summertime saga is just basic 2D graphic game , I also wrote that and easy made and I can make clone also milfy city which is 3D but 3D making is easy if you have knowledge and some control , modeling software that doesn't hard. But for this game Whatalegend , I was surprise when I explored the script and writing. Which image and scene are made each of their part. Which take more time than normal writing. This masterpiece of writing can improve game quality like realistic. also placed angle and position with detail. They also split for image and scene define. Each of prologue are attached with each of script and scene prospectively. Sex scene made with multiple frame use as animation. Each of frame they draw with Design or Paint software so that is a lot of work. Also they used their original music and sound every of game resource.

All of that reason , I can finally understand , how hard is game developing. I also understanded how they feel it. And they are just making this a whole game with only 2 developer ! So think about it ! And this is also not their false and they gave us the finest and brilliant of over the decade game.
I read it, but I think you are not replying to me. Because I don't complain. I just feel for both, I do development, design and such, so I know how hard things are, and that they take time.

I agree with both sides. I do development, I know how fucking hard it is. And I also agree that they take far too long to fix this update. Of course it will be good when it arrives...

Of course under the condition that it arrives at all...

And that is the part where all the hardship lies. It takes skill to make a character look anatomically correct just once, let alone attractive. Skill that you have to develop by practicing regularly like an athlete. Add to that doing expressions while maintaining the likeness. Add to that drawing a character several times, while keeping their features consistent from all angles. You do that by laying down lines in a blank canvas in 2d art.

You need none of that when using 3d models. Make the character once, you're done. Heck, don't even make them, use Daz to generate them with a few sliders. Anatomy? handled. Face consistence? handled. Shading? handled. There's a reason 80 percent of the games you find here are 3d.

For character portraits. Don't forget the drawings for sex scenes. They have to be done from scratch.

TLDR You care too much about the code execution and not about the quality of the sprites being used. Game development isn't just about the code

In every game you need to get better in 3d game animations doesnt look good if your dont train how to do it for good there a ton of 3d games that have a simple animation while other are just pretty good training is not only for 2d games, but in the end thas up to you you can like games with a normal drawing or normal 3d char wiith simple animatons so

Sex scene in 2d have a lot of variatiions so no every animation neither art is the same some can take more or less time, but is where can take more time than 3Dgames, and i was talkin about the scene funtion... in 2d games to make a even scene or whatever you name it about 2 char talking for 2d game is always the same just show the chars talking over the black box and where text is showed and the background while in 3D to make the same you need to add all the chars in the scenario.. make em do one expression then took a screenshot and the use PS or AE and repeat this process till you finish a simple conversation.... while in 2D games is show sprite with a expreesion and done, do it tll you make a convesation it take less time to do conversation in 2d than 3d games yet the char devol takes more time than 3d in most of games
2d arent harder than 3D theres a lot of part where 2d is easier than 3d and other where is harder the only truth is that 2d are less accessible since you need a artist or know how to draw

also im talkin about coding bc the guy is talkin about that and i just replying

I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see 0.7 at the end of November. I think all these reports are just wishful thinking. And the developers are just trying to catch up with what they indicate in the reports as already done. If we ever see it at all.
